But you do agree A&F was out of line right ?

Yup.
They hired her and then one of the people that make sure the people in the front are always looking "American" .. whatever that look is ... told her to take off a sweater she was wearing because they said it wasn't allowed, but she had been given special permission because of her arm not being American enough.
So then she was banned to the storage room.
Well, for as often as they've been sued for...whatever...they are still in business because people still buy their products. So I guess people don't care nearly as much as we like them to.
Anybody who is willing to pay 50 bucks for a shirt simply because it has alittle logo on the chest is an idiot .

Ok, quick question - does the prosthesis have a little sticker on it that says, "Made in the U.S.A"? If so, they have no right. But if it has a little "Made in China" sticker on it, they may have some legal ground.

This puts a whole new meaning to the phrase, "They charge an arm and a leg."
Only I guess they had a half off sale.

I'm sorry, but these people blasting A&F for horrible business practice need to understand that while the company is super selective and gives off a fucked up vibe, their management practice is no different than any big box or small box retail chain. Actually, I will further and say that at least A&F doesn't let management fuck over staff by allowing schedule makers to not use up their weekly allotment of hours. The Kohls I work at leaves 100-150 hours that corporate budgets and doesn't use it. So part-timers like me get two nights a week while the managers get to enjoy a sizable bonus at the end of the year.
And if you don't think any box retailer would be do the same thing, you're lying to yourself. A&F gets to deal with the blow back because of their prep center image; JC Penny does the same stuff, and I know Steve and Barry's did while their horrible company was still in business.
Also, if she didn't inform her employer of her disability, she's lucky she got to keep a job at all, let alone work stock room.
Nobody has said other companies don't have fucked up practices. I'd venture to say most if not all do. Simply because they can. Do you know for certain A & F doesn't let management fuck over the staff? (I am honestly asking, not attempting to be a dick).
As far as her not telling the employer about her disability. HER ARM IS MISSING ENTIRELY. It's not her leg and foot which she could put a shoe on and cover with pants. One would have to be incredibly stupid not to notice a prosthetic arm/hand.
I worked at a Turkey Hill once where my boss would adjust my punch out time every night to make it earlier than it was, so she would be under her allottment of hours. It took me awhile to figure it out, but once I did I ripped her a new asshole, quit, and had the district manager kissing my ass, I guess so I didn't sue?? I dunno if I even could have, but it was never my intention. I just wanted the money I'd earned, which I got at the end of the day.
It's all so sad. Who are they to tell someone how they "should" look, you know? I hate that kind of close-mindedness.
again
....or they like their style and can afford it. Doesn't quite make them an idiot.
Um, that's time clock fraud, and you could have put the squeeze on them if you could prove it.
I stand by my statement .
wow, people actually still wear A&F??? I thought they played out when LFO fizzled out...great plug for their company in that song
