A "marquee" function?

Hey folks -- anyone know how to notate the "marquee" function to get something -- like just plain old text -- to scroll across the screen? I thought I knew, but apparently not so much...

Any help much appreciated.

put < marquee > in the front of the text you want to move and < /marquee > in the back of the text. (no spaces between the commands and carat marks.)
