NEST TRIBUTE
Let me simply begin this tribute by saying, THANK YOU! For years I have thought about attending this event an now here I am a veteran instead of a Newbie! This was an awesome weekend!
For those of you that have thought about going but are a little timid about it let me say this. You will never be more welcome anywhere! Every single person I came across was inviting, kind, interesting and super fun!
I have been with the forum for many years, until last year however I was not very active! Since posting here and meeting all you fine people it made going to NEST so much easier! All the fun on the silly stuff forum, all the friendly threats and all the games! For anyone that is new here, I highly recommend spending time there! A good 90% of all the people at NEST have posted there at one time or another!
Arriving at NEST was not hard! I arrived at the airport at the same time as Impailer! He led me around when we got to the Hotel! He introduced me to as many people as he could! From there, I was being led around by a different person every few minutes! I can’t begin to tell you how my heart was filled with a feeling of belonging and love for every single person I met! Everyone was approachable and made the transition of being a newbie the easiest thing imaginable!
Life is sure funny! 8 months ago I did not really know any of you! Over time I have felt like I had known you all my life! When I signed up for NEST I told myself, “Hey man! You are off to see some good friends!” After arriving at NEST I realized that you all were not good friends, you were great friends! By the time Monday rolled around and we were saying our goodbyes, I had a new family! There is no other way to describe it! You all are such a blessing in my life and I have no other way to convey it than calling you family!
I now have so many good memories that I get teary eyed still when I think about them! My life truly changed when I walked off that plane in Philly! Pokey told me that when I get back to the forum after being at a gathering like this, nothing will be the same! He was right! I now feel I know you all a little more and that makes a world of difference! I hope I touched someone’s life while I was there, because you all sure touched mine! I mean that with all my heart! The world is full of good people, and I sure met many over this wonderful weekend called NEST!
To close I just want to say that without all of you, there would be no me! You have been a support group of sorts for me over the past several months after having lost my mother to cancer! I thank you all for your support and love! This is not a forum my friends, this is a community! Thanks you all for allowing me to be a part of it!
The Following is a poem I wrote! It is not my best work but I wanted to get it out there quickly so here is my attempt at a tribute! If I have left someone out please understand, I met so many wonderful people this weekend that I simply can’t remember everybody! I sure hope you enjoy it! In the meantime, this is TexasTickler (TexasNippler for J) signing off with my new catch phrase, YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! That was for you Natural! Happy Birthday!
