I'm supposed to be past all this -- I already came out to the community and established myself as a member back in '04! 🙂 (Actually, I joined in '01, so I'm an oldie who's been away for a while...does that make me a newbie again?)
Haha, well, to avoid coming across as a complete newbie, I'll just call this my "reintroduction." Old friends may remember me, and I'm always up for making new ones.
Many people on here know me as Clair -- 22, from Boston, with this schoolgirl crush on Robin, and a passion for my Red Sox. As stated above, I was an active member of the forum for quite a while. Over the past few years, my on and off relationship w/ a fellow TMFer distracted me from contributing. Unfortunately, like all things, that came to an end about 5 months ago.
Wanting to protect my privacy (even while in the relationship) I created stripes226 - just in case anyone gets confused 🙂 After the breakup I went on as Opal24, which I had wanted to hang onto to further protect myself from my ex -- but some things just don't work out as planned. I was recently attacked in a personals thread (not by him) for reasons I really don't understand, which I assume blew my cover.
So here I am again - right back where I started. (not such a bad thing, right? 🙂 ) I want to make this my official reintroduction, and look forward to getting involved with this community once again. Afterall -- whether you remember me or not -- some of you have been lifesavers for me. This truly is one of the only paces where I feel completely "normal" and at home. The only thing that bothers me is that I've been away for so long, and I truly apologize for that.
One line that has stayed w/ me pretty much forever is from X-Men, and was used as a reply in my original 'coming out' post . "You see, Logan? We're not as alone as you think we are." That line has changed my life, and to see this forum accumulate over 50,000 members is mind-boggling. Congrats to the community and 'thank you' to those who run it. I forgot what an amazing place this can be.
Ok, enough sappy stuff -- I'm back 🙂 To use my favorite quote from Hedwig:
"This is the best way that I've found
to be the best you've ever seen."
Have fun at NEST this weekend, guys 😉
Cheers,
Clair
