Ace Of The Bass (Best Bass Players)
To me, the best bass player ever was James Jamerson. Who, you might ask, was he? Listen to any Motown recording by The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, etc. and you will hear James Jamerson. A great example of outstanding bass playing is heard on the song "I Was Made To Love Her", by Stevie Wonder. An obscure song by The Jackson Five called "Darling Dear" will prove Jamerson's talents as well. Oh, and the bass player on Jackie Wilson's "You're Love (Keeps Lifting Me Higher)"? Yes, who else? There's my vote.
