That while listening to music it makes it easier to think and come up with ideas.
 
i completely agree, helps me focus personally....

silence makes my mind wander way to much
 
I tend to find listening to songs with good lyrics help the most in creating good ideas
 
LOL nope but Iron Maiden does the trick , lots of songs based on history

Judas Priests latest concept album Nostradamus has some thought provoking songs

And ALWAYS Bad Religion
 
I always have my playlist going when I'm writing.Its far from distracting and for some reason seems to jump start my creativity.

Youre definitely not the only one.
 
I like silence.

I often find that going for a walk somewhere very quiet is a great help for reflection and ideas to pop into your head.

im glad that works for u but my head gets to crowed to focus on one of those walks....down side of naturally over analyzing everything.

Music gives my ADD mind something to focus on while i create
 


For me it's whatever doesn't suck and whatever I'm in the mood for. It's usually something loud though. I can only take soft for like, three songs.
 
university of Michigan did it and a few others did it

the infant thing i heard was false but the during test thing i thought was true
 
It has to be hard when im creating or workin on something

but mellowing out soft can work for me

Same with me. If I'm working on something that I really need to concentrate on it's either silence of more instrumental music. If there's a bunch of loud noise, esp. with words, forget it. I can't think. I need my quiet or I get like this :woot2: and not in a good way! lol
 
i used to fall asleep to hard rock and punk so i completely agree

soft stuff is to keep me awake but peaceful enough for other to be around 🙂

Absolutely. I find that the type of music I listen to affects how and what I draw. Sometimes when I want to convey a certain feeling in a piece I'm doing, I listen to music that reflects that feeling so my mind is conditioned to how I want the drawing to feel.

I do! I love putting on records while I paint, I like to paint in time with the music I am listening to. And if there are days where I am blocked, I put on a new song, it stimulates new ideas for me.

and given your very very cool drawings in ur sig....i say ITS WORKIN!!
 
I listen to music while doing surgery... it actually helps me stay calm, cool, and focused while not becoming so wrapped up I forget to breathe. It may sound strange, but it's much better to have stress free surgeon rather than an uptight/stressed out one. At least for animals 🙂
