Am I the only one who gets p/o'd when someone bumps a thread that's over a year old just to post something like they've never seen this, or something totally insignificant??? Maybe I'm old and grumpy....

It's okay, bruh

p/o'd? No. Irked, maybe

Just take a look at the line right below the thread title, so see who started it & more importantly, WHEN. If it's old & familiar, skip it.

That should help...

P/o'd maybe wasn't accurate, more frustrated. Just venting.

Agree. I wish vBulletin would not bump threads after say, 6 months or so.

Sometimes its okay, revisit an old thread that has some decent pictures on it, but most of them hasn't been anything to get excited about, I agree. It's like what's the point.

I'm more irked when I see a new thread that covers the same ground as a hundred other threads (e.g., is tickling cheating?, how do I get my s.o. into tickling?, omg do you think celebrity X is one of us?). In those cases I'd much rather see an old thread bumped.

I don't see what the big deal is??? Just check the date of the thread and even then it is always refreshing to see new peoples opinions and comments on old topics. Remember, we daily get new members and this is a whole new world to them!!!

peace out,
daddy

Yeah. I agree. It's really not all that big a deal.

bumping old threads doesnt irk me too much for the most part but what does irk me is when someone does it specifically to start an argument... then it bugs me.

Ha ha, you want to see old and grumpy.... wait until you're my age! :rowfull: Like the others say, you can see the date of the original post and ignore it if you want.....

Exactly. Some are good too!

I don't mind an old post being bumped as a rule, particularly if it's a story or a piece of art. My biggest complaint is when people go on bumping spree's, and you can see that they bumped like eight posts, with only a few words comment on each post, effectively burying newer posts. That pisses me off.

It is not annoying, actually I find very annoying that people get angry because someone replies to a thread, it does not matter if it is 10 years old or not.

It is the most awesome thing that you can have a long time chat, even lasting 10 years, using internet. Stop your hating campaign to one of the best features of the internet.

Also it does not matter if they just want to say "oh, I wish I had been there!" or something like that. Let them express with freedom.

Doesn't bother me. Now to see if I remember to bump this thread a year from now 😀

I'm going to give it about half a decade, and then I'll chime in with a "hur hur hur, me too!"

I agree. What's the point in in getting upset over something you can easily ignore?

I share your angst, I to am annoyed when someone bumps a thread that's over a year old.

I've never understood anti-bumping. If it's that big in forum culture then threads should just auto delete after some time.

I got no problem with it at all! Actually its kinda cool sometimes to see stuff you thought were cool but had forgotten about

It never raises my blood pressure or anything, but I might roll my eyes.

It depends on the topic. If it's an opinion poll like favorite body targets, something like that isn't going to change with the passing of time, and so bumping those threads makes sense.

On the other hand, some topics are time relevant, such as a guy asking for advice about a particular girl he has a date with the following weekend. Then seven years later some yahoo decides to resurrect it. People don't always pay attention to the date, and so they take the time and effort to offer sound advice while the thread bumper chuckles and rubs his hands gleefully.

It doesn't bother me really. I think it's more annoying when a new thread is started about a topic that's been discussed ten thousand times. It's usually an honest mistake though, so I don't let it ruin my day or anything
