I live in an apartment building where apparently an elephant with insomnia lives above me and it sounds like there's someone stabbing a chihuahua next door (weird sex going on I think.)

So I am pretty antisocial. Most of my neighbors are yuppies anyway.

I hate my neighbors. The ones across the street are those really nosy types, the ones to the right of me are mostly gone all of the time so I guess I don't hate them, and I'm pretty sure the one to the left is a crack *****.

We were talking about this on my other forum...many of us born before 1980 0r so can remember our parents being friendly with the neighbors, having block parties and neighborhood BBQs...it doesn't seem to be that way anymore. I say hello to my neighbors and know a few first names, but we don't socialize or do anything as a neighborhood and no one even says goodbye if they move. My girls play with the other kids a little, but most of them are in afterschool care until pretty late and spend all summer inside playing video games, which is a shame...

Are you friends with your neighbors? Do you hang out with them, do your kids play together...?

I live in an apartment building, and I still don't know my neighbors particularly well. We don't associate with them, with the exception of my girlfriend's sister (who just moved in to one of the apartments below ours as of... today, I believe).

Hopefully, there will be some community events in the future that will change this.

you know the coolest thing bout where i live now, cat walks (means the hallways for the rooms are on the outside instead of an interior hallway)

the reason its awesome is cuz you can yell up and down to eachother and just pop out your door and there is always someone out there hanging out and/or drinking
or the one of the guys always will have his door open blasting music as an invitation to come down and party

its one of the best things bout the military, the barracks party life 😀

I've had neighbors with whom I've shared comfortable spaces, invited 'em over, been invited over. Also had places where I came and went unnoticed and unobstructed.

Some folks is cool, is all. Of those, some are sociable. If ya lived by me, I'd be sociable. If ya responded, we'd be friends. It's like that. If they ain't interactin' with me, I ain't playin'.

I do have one neighbor who I'm on very good terms with, but the rest of us usually settle for a quick hello as we're passing by. Just the way things seem to have always been.

didn't even know I was attracted to east Asian guys... haha
and he even asked me out...hmmm...didn't even know East Asian guys were attracted to me...
something new & surprising everyday.

Most of the rest of them are cool too. we smoke and chat it up.

I used to be good friends with my next-door neighbor. We'd hang out, drink beer and play video games. Sadly, he moved away last year.

I'm friendly with the rest of my neighbors, I'll say hello and such, but I don't actually get together with anyone. Not because I'm aloof or snobbish, just because most of them have their own thing going and I have mine, sometimes that's all it boils down to.
