bad blood main event

But then again, he does that other symbol with his hands, and thats long been considered by some a satanic gesture, even though its commonly used for other reasons.

You're referring I presume to the hand gesture where the middle two fingers fold down onto the palm, the outer two stick upright like horns and the thumb folds across the palm? Yes that gesture is a satanic one. It's also one I've seen done by Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, George Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and my local Grand Dragon when he's had a few too many beers. 😀

I have no respect for Lesner.....he has not paid his dues as far as I am concerned and he is already a multi-time champ.

The Undertaker on the other hand went about 10 years before getting his first title....same w/Bret Hart.

The Undertaker won his first title exactly a year after he entered the then, World Wrestling Federation. He came in at the 1990 Survivor Series and won the title from Hulk Hogan at the 1991 Survivor Series.

Bret Hart won his first singles title within 3 months of going single. (The I.C. title.) He then won his first WWF championship 14 months after going single.

As for Dibiase, he wrote an excellent book awhile back about his career and how he found God in the process. It's a really good book, and I recommend it for everyone.

What's it called?

In response to an earlier question...

It was "medically proved" that Paul Bearer (William Moody) was Kane's father. It was used as an angle to piss off the Taker. (How would you feel if Paul Bearer had been porking your mother?)

I think that the hand gesture with the 2 middle fingers pointed down, outside fingers up, BUT the thumb out extended......means "I Love You".
If the thumb is kept locked in the palm, then you have a hand gesture that Ronnie James Dio got a lot of milage out of.

So thumb out means good, thumb in means bad?

Thumb in isn't bad if you're at the University of Texas -- it's the "Hook 'em Horns" sign, displayed in support of the UT Longhorns football team. Which is why Bradshaw uses it, not because he wants to appear Satanic.

Anyway, off to the friendly local sports bar to watch Bad Blood ...

Yeah, thats why I said its used for other common reasons. IE- Rock and Roll saluting, etc. Its not necessarily satanic if someone is ignorant to what it really can mean, which I'd assume makes up a good portion of people that see other people do it and just make with the same gesture without referencing or questioning it. This of course isn't to say they are saluting Satan and they don't even know it, since it wouldn't mean anything in their cases. Although it does spread and has as easily as gang signs and is now a regular part of pop culture. Nothing you apparently didn't already know. 🙂

As for the topic, someone post the results please of the PPV. 🙂

hey, what happened last night?

i'm mainly interested in the results of the tag team match.
big fans of edge in this house.

the horn sign is from texas football, and has spread to other areas too. notice most of those who were said to use it are/were from texas.

Edge/Benoit vs. La Resistance: DQ when Kane ran in to beat up Benoit. They teased Edge spearing Benoit by accident again but it didn't happen.

Tomko/Jericho: Jericho with running enziguiri. Okay match; Tomko can sell but he doesn't do much more than the generic big man moves.

Orton/Benjamin: Orton with a roll-through after a crossbody by Benjamin. Pretty good.

Women's 4-way: Trish with a schoolboy on Lita. Kinda sucks that Victoria loses the title without being pinned. Gail Kim is looking a lot better in the ring lately.

Eugene/Coach: Eugene with a Rock Bottom followed by a People's Elbow. Total comedy match. Eugene also gave Coach a couple Stunners after the match.

Benoit/Kane: Benoit with an inside cradle. Very good match, with Kane working hard to keep up.

Trips/HBK: Trips after two Pedigrees. Very long (over 45 minutes) and slow-paced; a lot of blood but not much else. Chairs, a table, and a ladder all got involved.

Yeah, but he got a standing ovation when he left.

I actually thought we might have seen a heel turn by Edge in the tag championship match. But it didn't happen.I still think it's going to sooner or later however, everything I've read points that way.

Nice to see the slimy bastard is capable of a clean put over once in a while; even if it is one of his best mates in the business. I bet he wouldn't be so generous with his time if Bret made a comeback.

I've heard that since Shawn got married and had a kid,he's really mellowed out quite a bit.Although when the Kliq was running things in the 90s,they were really major league assholes.

Ya gotta give the guy credit...after the major back problems he had, he came back and it's like nothing changed. Still the Showstopper!

The Sean Man

I never questioned Hickenbottom's ability as a performer, Sean. Just his lack of points as a human being.

Oh, I wasn't arguing with ya there. He and the clique were pains in the asses, according to many who were in wrestling at that time.
Personally, I think hell will freeze over before he and The Hitman ever make nice. Which is a shame because, like many other fans, it would be sweet to see Bret come back for another run at the title. Can you just IMAGINE the matches between him and Benoit?

ALL HAIL TRIPLE H!!!!

*hides behind protective screen so no tomatos, spit and bile, or anything else can touch him*

LOL ^__^

Sounded like an interesting match. I wish I could have seen it. I like Shawn Michaels too, he's one of my favorites. I just like Triple H a little more, probably because of his gimmick/character/personality. Its good to see HBK IS not a quitter though, and that he can still go above and beyond the call to perform, and I'm glad to hear he got a standing ovation. He deserved it. 🙂

I've always believed that some people hate a wrestler not for his work, but his outside life and backstage politics. That's why I stopped reading the wrestling website spoilers and crap about who hates who backstage.
HHH was given a tremendous oportunity long ago when he was boosted to main event status, and, in my opinion, excelled at it. He gave it his all when others said he would never make it as world champ, and made himself one of the most hated men in the business.
My thought? If you're watching a wrestler (whether talking or wrestling) and you immediately hate him, he's doing his job very well.

The Sean Man

From what I've read,HBK really has mellowed a lot.I believe he and Bret are on speaking terms again as well.

Sadly Bret won't return to the ring, as he had a stroke following a motorcycle accident. He and Benoit would make a tremendous match on paper though. They've known each other for over twenty years (indeed, Stu Hart trained Benoit) and would put on one hell of a show.

I really wish Bret would come back to full health and wrestle again. After all those years of Hulk Hogan, when Bret became champ, people really got the chance to appreciate a real wrestler.

As a matter of fact, when i get a new wrestling video game, i never use one of the established characters...I create Bret.
