Been summoned for jury duty

Well..It seems my "friends and neighbors " in Lancaster county,Pennsylvania have sent me summons for jury duty starting December 5th 2005 With any bit of luck I will be able to get out of it legally I will answer the questionnare and with any bit of luck I will be excused from it

But why you say? Well knowing my luck I will be at the "crime of the century" in Lancaster,Pa and end up on jury duty for a few months I drive big rig for a living My dispatcher was telling me his sister was on jury duty for four months Screw that

surely they will understand that your job is the type of job where you cant take off that sort of time. rats i would love to serve on a jury, since i used to watch courttv regularly and also hung out in their chatroom. still go in occasionally, but ctv has gone down in my opinion. finally however this week a live trial unfortunately about the little girl who was abducted on super bowl sunday and it was caught on surveillance camera. she was kidnapped, raped, and murdered. yet most of american was yakking about janet jacksons boobs.

Zoddie, there are ways to trigger a peremptory challenge from either side, without managing to look like a person that the other potential jurors would just as soon avoid. It's not difficult. If you want to know more, pm me.

Thanks my friend If I do gotta do it I hope it's only 3 or 4 days at most I was off work for nine weeks due to a broken ankle I don't wanna be off work that long again

True But if it's going to be more than a few days I have to clean out the big rig I drive of all my stuff Then when I am ready to come back to work I have to go and recover another truck That sucks I have done truck recovery in the past and it really blows

ROFLMFAO ..... I just have to agree with that one ... !!

The last time I was called for jury duty, and it was a LONG time ago, it was some sort of "sexual assault" case. IMHO the Judge tainted it from the git go, saying that although the sex was consentual, the "victim", at the time the offense occured (keywords here), AND the defendant, were both minors.

To me, it sounded like just 2 kids that screwed up and got caught ... or the girls mamma wanted revenge (mamma was in the court room). Whatever it actually was, I told them exactly how I felt about it ... what I felt by everything that was said to me by the Judge and the ASSistant D.A.'s ... that it was a waste of everyone's time and taxpayer money (among other things).

That was several years ago ... I haven't received a notise since!

My company gives us no jury pay and I was called for the first time this year. You may never have to serve~I didn't. Had a note and everything, they didn't care~a-holes...

Actually, I'd love to be on a jury - alas I never will be.

Tell them you have policemen in your immediate family (wife, father, brother, sister, etc). If it's a criminal case that will get you kicked off immediately.

its not fair i watched ctv religiously and never got called. and my husband has served on a jury grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
