Best moment of your life

Since I've gone all sentimental, emotional and almost mystical over the last month or so, I would lke to put the question...

What was the best moment of your life?
And the Best time of your life?

For me, taking it in reverse order...

The best time of my life was a little course I did 4.5 years ago. Good people there, one in particular whom I will never forget.

The best moment of my life was almost 16 years ago, by the beach, well, a beach in Northern France on a shcool trip, sat on the wall with someone who loved me - or at least said she did - and I loved her dearly, although I I'll never admit it to her or anyone else. Got too much stick from others because she wouldn't leave me alone.

So what's your best time and moment?

Hmm...the best time? Probably this years British Juggling Convention, I got to know so many fantastic people, I learned so many new tricks, and I even became completely infamous while I was there!
Oh, that, and juggling and kink often go hand in hand 😉

My best moment was probably spent by the side of a Loch 300 metres above sea level, watching the sun set over the mull of kintyre, looking out from the Isle of Arran towards Northern Ireland. Either that or the brewery trip afterwards!

Best time was at my first ever gathering where i met a whole bunch of new people that were into this kind of thing...


Most of us are still good friends today.....



Best moment had to be the birth of my first born son some almost 22 years ago.......I can picture it as if it were yesterday....and still hear his first cry.....

i have a few moments. the best and most joyous was when she said "Yes."
another, less joyous but still awesome, was when i took 1st place in my 4th grade science fair with my Electro-Magnet demo.

Has to be the summer of 1981.I had moved from Kansas City to Houston in 1980,and a young lady i knew from K.C. was living in Houston also.We started well,not dating really,just doing things togeather but by early in 1981 we were getting pretty serious.

I recall spending Saturday or Sunday at the beach in Galveston or Surfside,walks in Hermann Park,sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Montrose having a glass of wine...well things didn't work out in the end,but it was a glorious time while it lasted.

A close second would be finding the TMF,and having the chance to get too know all you goofs.😛

Best moment of my life, getting high in the car with my missus to be the second time we'd met. It was hilarious, touching, and I knew then that I could spend the rest of my life with her. Whilst I've quit smoking weed, it was a drug that helped bring people together.

Best time, well, either Metallica '04, or the House music festival here we have on New Years Day called 'Summerdayze'. '07 Summerdayze was fucking awesome.

The best moment of my life was last saturday... about 20 minutes of conversation and... cat talk. Like no other moment in my life!

Best moments....mmm....probably when I found out I was going to have my first child......I had to sit down...spontaneous tears...the whole bit...

wow, there's too many to choose so i'll just leave out the obvious ones.


My senior prom. I have a hard time naming anything about that whole event that didn't fuckin' rock.

Seeing Yngwie Malmsteen on stage. If you've seen it, you know what i'm talking about.

Sitting in the semi-dark staring at the biggest mural i'd ever completed. Many bottles of booze and several days of work culminated into something immensely beautiful that many people enjoyed.

Another good moment was on a night out with a good mate and his then GF... We built a big fuck-off tower on a table out of RED bottles!

Funny that Artoo Detoo mentioned a sunset in Ireland... One of mine, too -- bike tour of Killarney National Park -- we saw the same beautiful sun set twice -- funny little trick of changing relative elevations. 'Twas nice.

Tickled a girl into a curled up ball on a cobblestone street in Dublin on the same trip...

A moment of satori along cliffs in South Shields, England.

A moment of satori driving into West Chester, PA a few years back.

My first electric "french" kiss with a girl named "Lynne" soooo many years ago, and remembering how her fingers so perfectly intertwined with mine...

Those moments after a break-up when every song seems to be written for you.

The rush of adrenaline and the relief that followed after narrowly avoiding getting bitten by a moray eel. ...and after crashing my car and escaping a pursuer with a gun.

Those moments when I reach a client, however briefly, or when a moment of insight can move someone I love to a better path or a better understanding of themselves (one such moment happened just a couple of weeks ago 🙂 )...

When I've finished a piece of art to my satisfaction (a surprising rarity).

...and so much more.

There are a few, but the one that sticks out in my mind is dancing on a front porch, out in the country at 2am, in the fog to Angel Eyes by Jeff Healey with the most amazing person I've ever met.

Best time of my life.....

My first time being the "sports hero".
I played basically division 3 college football, though small (5'6 160 lbs) I was fast (4.4 40yrd speed). My first play the coach finally put me in was because of an injury to the starting tailback. It was 4th qtr, we were down by 6 with 8 minutes left on the clock on our own 22 yard line.
The coach said, lets give him a chance maybe with his speed he can get a few yards. I remember the opposing linebackers looking at me and laughing. Yelling how they were gonna take my head off, and Id be on the bench next. I smiled and yelled back, you gotta catch me first.
The snap, pitch right..I juked one outside linebacker and cut back to the inside. A middle linebacker was in front of me so a quick spin move and all I saw was open field. I turned on all the speed I had....and when I saw I was at 50 yard line I turned around...and no one was near me. I sped all the way to the endzone and as many times as I imagined my first touchdown celebration...all I did was stop in the endzone, put a finger in the air and handed the ball to the ref and ran off the field. It was the first of 2 scores that day...but that first one seemed so surreal. The crowd (of about 25,000) cheering, my teammates and the coach on the sidelines. I still get chills thinking about it. And soon thereafter I was the starting tailback.

Best moment....I have 2. The birth of both of my children. Nothing can ever top those moments of holding them for the first time.

Best Individual moment- Probably October 28, 1995, Carlos Baerga's fly ball lands in Marquis Grissom's glove, and my beloved Atlanta Braves win their only World Series to date. I felt like I was on top of the world that night.

Best times of my life- Many. In college, with friends, ex girlfriends, late nights out, outings to clubs, midnight snack runs. Visits to Florida to see my wonderful grandparents. Too many to mention.

Two other excellent individual moments- October, 1992, college dorm lounge, Game Seven 1992 NLCS. Francisco Cabrera's base hit off Stan Belinda into left field at old Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, giving the Braves the 1992 NL Championship.

And.. Kenny Rogers bases loaded walk in 1999, giving the Braves the 1999 NL Championship over our archrivals, the Mets. That was a sweet moment.

One time when I worked on the railways I was sitting in a train driver's cab when, from out of the hazy early morning mist that oft covers the Scottish moors, a majestic stag, his nostrils aflare with excitement, jumped out in front of the train and got obliterated in a storm of blood and antlers. Then there was the time a lamb jumped in front of the train and got punted 500 yards down the track, once again in a storm of blood and bone fragments. Or the numerous times rams would hear the train coming, panic, and run straight under the wheels, and when one went under you could guarantee at least another two or three would end up smushed because sheep are stupid and follow each other everywhere.









Wait what was the question again? Oh right, best moments. I met Steve Claridge once. That was good. The rest of my life has been shit.
