Clapton or Gilmour?

Or someone else?

It's okay leafstk,I'll put in your vote!😉

2 votes so far for Gilmour😀

Hmmmm.. dunno what 'slowhand' is...
but best guitarist goes to Les Paul.

Since everyone's going to say Clapton or Gilmour, I'll go out on a limb and say Steve Rothery from Marillion. 😎

Slowhand...as opposed to Flying Fingers?

If by 'Slowhand' you mean guitarists who play tastefully and skillfully without doing alot of furious fretwork or 'million notes to a bar' soloing, then I'd say George Harrison fills the bill. Listen to his song "Something" and you'd have to agree that his solo says in a few notes what a lot of guitarists can't say in one whole album's worth of playing. Now, if 'Slowhand' means something else entirely then I say, "Never mind". By the way, Clapton & Gilmour are both excellent in their own right but I just love George. (Also, check out Robin Trower's "I Can't Wait Much Longer" from 'Twice Removed From Yesterday' album. It's been awhile, I hope that's the album I mean)

That has been my interpretation of the meaning!🙂

Wow.....a mention of Robin Trower! Now there's a great guitarist.
If this thread about "slowhand guitarists" is as what Featherfingers writes, as playing tastefully and skillful, then look no further than Trower's "Daydream".
Or anything off:

Twice Removed From Yesterday
Bridge of Sighs
For Earth Below
Long Misty Days

I'm glad I understood the meaning of the word "Slowhand". And for you Robin Trower fans out there, James Dewar, the lead singer for alot of Robin's tunes, passed away some time ago (I don't have my source or I'd give you more info). He joins George in Rock 'n Roll Heaven, no doubt. By the way, there was a guitarist named Eddie Hazel who played with George Clinton's early incarnation of Funkadelic. You have got to hear the tune 'Maggot Brain'. It sounds alot prettier than the title does.

Obviously Featherfingers knows his guitar players! I first heard the song "Maggot Brain" last year, it's 10 minutes of the most unbelievable guitar instrumental playing. The "Maggot Brain" cd is awesome too, every song, some of the loudest bass I ever heard on record.

Drew ain't lying. In fact, I spent more time playing that 'Maggot Brain' track over and over again that I've forgotten what the other songs on the album sound like!
