Truly sickening crimes; to know that most of the victims are just kids makes it even worse.

You're from Scandanavia, right? So you live two, maybe three borders from Russia; every day there, some poor Central Asian or African gets their head beaten in by some ridiculous Slavic nationalists who wear swastikas and express admiration for a man who considered them to be human trash. The ones who are beaten are lucky; others will be shot or stabbed (no matter their age or gender - the skinheads stabbed a 6 year old Tajik girl to death in St Petersburg some years back), and some are taken away into the forest to have their heads cut off.
Then there are the dudes in Germany who go around in packs - sometimes 1,000 strong - and attack tennement blocks housing refugees with petrol bombs and machetes. A little west you find Northern Ireland, which is almost completely racially homogenous thanks to the quiet xenophobia pervading communities on both sides of the divide, a silent, insidious hatred of outsiders that is backed up by heavily armed religious bigots who use their political connections and weapons to ensure anyone whose face doesn't fit will know they are most definitely not welcome. They recently left a live grenade on the wall of a human rights campaigner, one of their own, who was working with Muslim community leaders to appeal a local council's decision to reject permission for a mosque to open in their town. The council - largely composed of former terrorists and their lackeys - decided to reject the application due to fears that local residents would be "kept up at night by the wailing". Back on the mainland we have Spain, where racism is so endemic that many Spaniards are unable to comprehend how anyone can NOT hate Africans or Arabs, then Italy, where the fascist, nationalist mafiosi in the south are making a nice living extorting protection money from Libyan refugee families whom the Italian government has rescued from the mess in their homeland, and finally the Balkans, where the twisted "national pride" that saw Bosniak men, women and children become playthings and pets for the Serbs is still burning strong.
Really, asking "if this can happen even in Scandanavia, then where else can it happen?" is redundant; these kinds of animalistic atrocities will continue to happen in all of the places that they were happening before they started hitting Scandanavia, and they will continue to happen for as long as Europe refuses to recognise the problems it has with fascists, nationalists and racists in it's midst.
I don't even think this is the first mass shooting committed by a crazed fascist in a Scandanavian country, either. Haven't there been a couple of incidents in Malmo of Swedish guys taking rifles out into the streets and shooting "immigrants"? I think the last guy managed to kill one person - an ethnic Swedish woman who was sitting in a car with a dark-skinned male friend at the time... makes you wonder what was going through his head, huh?
