lol I actually like saosin even if the vocalist sings like he's been castrated. Anyway, I don't know what bands are considered obscure but I started this so whatever I say goes. A little list I compiled:

Sunny Day Real Estate? My respect for you has went up a notch, they are proper emo not that whiny crap panic and fall out boy do. I know several of the bands you mentioned in your list, although alot i havent listened to in quite a while Enter Shikari being the exception.

Billy Talent is taken from Hard Core Logo although the actual name is Billy Tallent.🙂

@ xsamanthax: I'm not sure if the moldy peaches count anymore after Juno. Their okay, but some of their lyrics are just too ridiculous, in a bad way. I recommend everyone listening to the moldy peaches version of "anyone else but you"(not the Micheal cera/Ellen page version) if you want to throw up the food you just ate.
 
Immortal Technique is worth a listen.

King (Gorgoroth, Sahg etc.) and Kvitrafn (Wardruna, Sigfader, ex-Gorgoroth etc.) teamed up and formed Jotunspor (tracks/traces of giants). Musically their debut album ‘Gleipnirs smeder’ binds grim and primitive black metal together with elements of noisy dark-ambient, while the concept of Jotunspor is strongly fundamented in the old Norse cults and beliefs.

‘Glepnirs Smeder’ (The Forgers of Gleipnir) explores some of the incidents surrounding the creation of the world and Ragnarok - the ultimate doom/transformation. The chain Gleipnir, its forgers from the depths of Svartalvheim and Fenris - the chained jotun-wolf are some of the most important themes on this album where all lyrics are sung in Norwegian and Old Norse tongue.

Oh you know, you are probably right. I havent seen the movie, but my daughter was highly pissed that it went "mainstream", lol. I had forgotten all about that.

I love their ridiculousness =)

Of course, I also listen to ICP which probably renders my musical opinions worthless, rofl. Juggalos need tickles too!
 
I think I'm still the only one I know who's into The Flys. Damn, I loved that band.
 
Brand New. They've been around for a while and had some playtime on MTV (rarely) but for the most part they're grossly unappreciated and unknown (mainly due to their lead singer's fear of "selling out").

No band is even close to as good as Brand New. If you want to listen to a cd with literally no bad songs, check out Deja Entendu. It has my favorite song of all time, "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows", and the best bass line ever in "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades." I didn't really consider them obscure enough for my list but do yourself a favor if you haven't heard of them and check them out. Thanks So_Last_Summer for giving me a chance to rant about how good Brand New is.

The Wildhearts, Warrior Soul and Lake Of Tears ..all great bands. Had more but can't think of them right now.
