Hey Gang~

Someone posted a while back here about the Burning Man Fest--been wanting to go for a few years now (and of course visit the infamous "tent") Is anyone else going?

So it looks like I may finally get my chance this year...I'm hoping whoever you are will see this and write back--I'm dying to know what to expect--is it just me or is this one lasting longer than usual? Thanx in advance--maybe we should plan like a get-together (Damn, it's lasting like 6 days, yes?)

It's a week-long festival, held in Reno every year. In some ways it mimics the original Woodstock (lots of people get naked, there's no running water-Eww, I know) but without the rock stars. Some people think it's just an excuse to take acid but my one experience with that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in college and I am much too old for that shit nowadays...🙄

There's art and music, bodypainting and some kind of tickling tent (both activities which I fully intend on spending A LOT of time in 😀)
It's all very 60s era, Haight-Ashbury mood (totally me!)
I was thinking it would be a fun place to organize a Play Party. Some guy posted about doing something similar in another state and I WISH I had written to him then...

Yes it's all very mysterious...

I lived here for YEARS (Reno's just 3 hours away) and never knew it existed. I haven't even talked to anyone who's been but heard thru the grapevine it's supposed to be amazing. You can't pay cash for anything at the displays, it's 100% barter system.

It's not cheap--I think it's going to cost about $300 just to camp in the dirt (shudders) but smart cookie me used that to my advantage saying "IF we're going, I get to do anything I want (short of having sex of course) INCLUDING being naked--Got it?"

He reluctantly agreed <gg>. So unless someone at work has asked for it off already I'm a-GOING! Woo HOO!😀

Don't want anyone to get mixed signals, ya know--The only time I'm really bashful is around strangers so even though I kid about taking up permanent residence in there, unless I'm with someone I know I doubt if I'll be brave enough to indulge...😀

Although it all sounds fun in theory, there's always the chance that I might get there and HATE it. I'm pretty much the uber-girlie girl so you know all that dust isn't going to make me feel very sexy, even if I do get to be naked. I'm not exactly a supermodel, but no one seems to mind all that much <giggles>

I don't think what people look like naked is much of issue, not to me anyway--the point is to have FUN! But if people start to make me feel skeeved out (I don't have to be naked for that!) I'm going to probably just run back to my tent and HIDE OUT the rest of the trip.
