I've heard that pregnant ladies have to be careful while laughing. Apparently, if they're in a comedy club or watching a funny tv show or being tickled, if they laugh too hard, the convulsive shaking of the belly muscles can cause premature delivery. I assume this would only be the case at 8 or 9 months. Anyone have information on this very interesting medical phenomenon?

I'm no doctor, but my guess is yes. I've seen many stories about women in stressful situations (car accident, bad storm, hurricane, etc) that went into premature labor. If a pregnant woman were tickled to extreme, it could be stressful enough to induce labor.
I'd be very cautious about "overstimulating" my wife with tickling once into the third trimester of pregnancy....especially since the women in my life (sisters, girlfriend) all say they became more ticklish during their pregnancy (takes less tickling to send them into hysterics).

Sexual activities CAN result in premature labor simply from the act of having an orgasm. It is the uterine contractions that occur during a "deep O" that can trigger labor. I thought I was within the a safe time zone regarding having sex when I was pregnant. As a result, my labor was triggered about a month and a half early. Best sex I ever had....but came iwth a price! LOL That combined with other factors, resulted in the premature birth of my son. Warning to the wise out there who are willing to learn from others' mistakes.
As far as laughing? I don't know about laughing independently of tickling. If the woman is prone to sexual release FROM the tickling, I'd say it's not too bright to tempt fate! LOL Put your feathers away!

It varies from pregnancy to pregnancy. With my first child, he got here exactly 9 mos from date of conception. I remember the events from minute to minute. I got pregnant on a specific day in November, 1984, and delivered my son on a specific day in August, 1985. Those days were within two days or less of conception.
My daughter was another story. She was a stubborn little nip who decided to come when she got good and ready. We had a blizzard that day and I arrived to the hospital one centimeter dialated at 10:00 am on the 15th. I didn't do a darned thing until about 10pm that night and had her at 12:10am the next day on the 16th. I wish I would've thought of some tickling me sooner. Maybe she would've been born on a multiple of "5" instead of being born on the 16th. The rest of us have birthdays on multiples of 5. 😀 😛
Who knows how things may have ended up???????????

She was quite adorable in her misery...Strangers would ask her "how far along?" and she'd say, "I dunno--nine or ten YEARS" (she was one of those who didn't enjoy the pregnancy "experience".) The doctor encouraged her to have sex because in orgasm, your body releases a hormone called "oxytocin" which supposedly encourages delivery. They finally ended up having to induce and all turned out fine...

Well once the girl who normally delivers our post was on the other side of the road, whilst I watched her out of my window. Anyway some guy (whom she must have known) said something to her, and the next thing she was laughing so loud you couldn't help but hear her indoors. However what happened then was really strange. Thus instead of finishing the side of the street she was on, she crossed over the road and put our letters through the letterbox.
