The first one, believe it or not was the most popular British celebrity in 1995 and 1996, at least up to the point where I left the states. His name was Mr. Blobby. Between him, Oasis, and the Spice Girls, I was quite glad to leave at the time.

The other I think, is the Pink Elephants trip Dumbo had when he got drunk with the mouse.

Oh I saw the re-runs of the Sid and Marty stuff too. I was born in the late 70's and I think they were mostly from the early 70's? Anyhoo, scary! I just remember this freaky wizard dude and a witch. And the sick E.T. freaked me out too! When he was all white laying in the tub. 🙁
 
When I was a young'n, one of the world's greatest comedians in film scared the shit outta me. I am, of course, referring to Chucky of the Child's Play movies. That guy freaked me out as a kid, but I watch them now and realize just how funny they are, even before they made Bride and Seed of Chucky.
 
Remember those "yep, yep, yep. Uh huh" aliens from Sesame Street? They scared the shit out of me.

Teddy ruxpin!!!!

He was a freakin bear, and he had audio tapes he read to you. This at a time when i was five, and all my toys didnt move.

Now teddy ruxpin was expensive at first when it was released. Each tape was about $15.00. My dad had bought 300 dollars worth between the bear and all the tapes. He even had got the deluxe limited edition version, that knows your name, AND HIS EYES GLOW FREAKING RED!!!

I walk down the stairs, see a satanic bear who knows my name, and since the pack-in
batterys were near dead the tape was playing at slow speeds. This is making his voice lower pitched, speaking slowly, and sounds like satan.

I took one look, and ran upstairs crying, barracaded the door to my room with a desk, and hid under my bed and cryed.


Next day my dad couldnt figure out where he put the bear.......i burned it.
 
HAHA Teddy Ruxpin! I had one. My dad somehow rigged it to "sing along" with regular cassette tapes (maybe it already did that, I dunno, but I DO know he'd taken it apart first to see how it worked.) I remember putting in the "Holy Diver" tape and chasing my sister around with the Teddy ruxpin that now inexplicably sang "Don't Talk to Strangers". I think my parents still have a video tape of the bear somewhere in their house.

Funny you say that, the baby didn't horrify me but i had nightmares about the mother's sister who had meningitis and turned evil.

by the way, though that movie as shite, that is one of my all time favorite books

He really is! G'mork and I were having a few drinks and he told me he was waiting for that moment when you flopped your hand over the edge of the bed in your sleep so he could ... well, maybe I shouldn't be giving away too many secrets.
