Coming clean

As the resident lurker/delurker here LOL

Well as the resident lurker/delurker in the community for 10 years I must say this is one of the first times Ive seen someone who berated and insulted fellow TMFers come back and apologize and take responsibilty for their own actions, and that in itself is commendable. We all have suffered for years and years with those that choose, thats right choose, to come in here and start problems and many never had the concience or decency to admit their wrong doings and be a human being about it. This gentleman (I think I can call him that) did. I knew of the problems with him and all the names but as usual I stay out, I just keep myself enough in the loop but I dont wrap the noose around the ol neck. All that being said and I certainly do not want to start anything I will say 2 things. 1.) I also suffer from depression and anxiety brought on by my condition...I have recently been diagnosed with neuropathy in both of my arms, and there is no pain medication that can help because its the nerves in my arms are starting to die and in some areas are already dead. Depression is a SERIOUS problem one that I wish more people were aware of. You have feelings of fear, paranoia, disgust, hate, fear and many other feelings that can bring on real physical symptoms of illness. So I can relate to what you must have been going through. And I agree its not an excuse, just what was going on in your life. And we all appreciate your honesty and forthcommingness (is that a word??).
2.) Although most will forgive you for past actions it is in no way I hope a free pass from what you did do. Im sure no one will attack or in any way be rude to you but just understand if anyone might feel apprehensive about conversating with you one on one. Im sure in time it will pass, but as long as you continue making progress and getting well we will all support you as best we can. We are a community that cares about each other because we all need a little support now and then, even from just someone on the other side of the computer that we might never meet.
Good luck to you, and if you need to talk, my box is always open.

Thats just my dollar and 2 cents worth.

Sorry to hear about the neuropathy, robace. As far as depression and the emotional stress it causes leading to physical problems, I know what you're talking about. A guy I know has fibromyalgia. It's a painful rheumatic condition. He's always had a personality where he was very easily hurt and stressed out, and suffered some pretty serious bullying when he was younger, and from some of the stuff I've read, it's not a stretch to say that that probably contributed to his current condition. And stress also makes the symptoms worse and quickens his deterioration. As one website I was just looking at puts it, stress plays havoc on the immune system.

As far as some people being reluctant to want to speak to me after all the things I've said on here, I'm really surprised that I've gotten as good a response as I have. I was really preparing myself for the worst. What I would like to do, after I get back to work and get my life back together which hopefully won't take too long, is attend some gatherings when they're in the Chicago area. And give people a chance to get to know me in person. And if there are people who express anything like "I'm not going if he's going to be there", then I won't go. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable. Well, it's a little late for that, I know. But you know what I mean. :upsidedow

I have no issues with you using the Quantum name elsewhere and MoM here in this thread for clarity sake.

I wish you the very best, Phil.
It's a long, long road. Please, don't give up. It's my most earnest wish for you that you find happiness, and I think it's indeed possible.

As with Robace, my inbox is open to you.

So you "totally" know what it's like huh? Sorry, I just love it when a woman talks like a valley girl. I find it sexy as all get-out. Whatever "all get-out" is.
AquaFeline's Occupation: helping make sure people don't explode. Do I dare ask?? :scared: Thanks, by the way.

Dude, "totally" can be said in so many ways, many of them totally NOT valley girl. 😉 I have more of the surfer thing going on. 😀 My occupation is actually only helping people not explode at least 15 years from now. So if you were worried about exploding 15 years from now, feel safe.

I've always had a crush on Julie Brown, the redhead with the valley girl accent from MTV. So that's probably where the fascination with valley girls started. Even though I'm equally fascinated with punk girls, preppy girls, goth girls, etc etc. 😀 Surfer girl eh? Ever done the "buried in the sand except for your feet" thing?
