and it's not a "real" one, but there was a whose line is it anyway game where colin used, "i'll fluff your garfield". genius!

and to badreligion, BR is my absolutel favorite band. i have a flag of your signature hanging on my wall behind me here.
 
My dad has a ton of these...even after all these years I still giggle when he says them:

"Sucks like a soup sandwich"

"I'll do <whatever>, if it hairlips a billy goat"

"Finer than frog hair"

"I'm gonna knock you into next week"

"running on dumb luck and superstition"

He is a great story teller and every conversation is peppered with this stuff, lol.

And of course my husband, being a former marine, has some that are rather shocking, rather than funny, but have been known to make whateer I am drinking come out of my nose when he says them, lol.

It got turned around over time. It used be to "eat your cake and (still) have it too". Make another cake! lol.

I had the same reaction as you...CAKE??? Of course imma eat it!!!!
 
For me, I snicker almost every time I hear the word "box." On one of the runs I do at work, I pass a consignment shop called "the Pink Box." I laugh everytime I see it. Then there's also "the Red Box," which are machines in grocery stores where you can rent dvds for a dollar a night. I can't help but think, "She's on the rag? May as well watch a movie!"

Shiitake. It's a mushroom that isn't exactly a common word, but a funny one. Quite obvious that it looks like I'm saying something else entirely. 😀
 
When I was in the service I worked with a very southern girl.. one of her favorites was "don't let the doorknob hit ya where the good lord split ya"

The first time she said I literally fell on the floor laughing. I still snicker whenever I think of it.. (usually when I hear someone say or post "finer than frog hair!") :happyfloa

What IS haberdashery??? I have heard this word since I was a kid but have no clue what it means.

Is it, like, underwear or something?

Every time I hear that word, I get this mental image of two british fox hunters banging each other in in a thatch of bushes while their respective husband and wife are in a castle arguing about french lace doilies.
