David E. Kelley's WONDER WOMAN is cast.

Almost anything whedon touches gets an immediate following...he is brilliant....and even he has had his failures...

Smallville is nothing more than a soap opera with a super hero background...I dropped Smallville from the things to watch mid first season....had nothing to do with the story of superboy.....as a drama it was so so, but as a "superhero" TV series it was totally off the mark..

And Lois and Clark might as well have been Lewis and Clark...

Joss Whedon is the single most over raited writer in TV history. He has had one major success and that was the Buffy franchise, witch I watched for one season... cause I was having a tough time sleeping. Alyson Hanigan and Anthony Head were pretty much the only real talent in the regular cast. Odly enough David Boreanaz seened to pick up once he got away from that snore-fest and got on his series Bones. Then again the leading lady on Bones can act some so that might have made the difference.

With Lois and Clark I could never tell if it was a Superhero Drama or a Superhero parity. It was good for a little while, but it "Jumped the Shark" when the two get together. All the sexual tention was taken out of the show and that is why it did poorly in the 4th season.

I followed Smallville for the first 4 or 5 seasons, and then I was tired of it, until a friend of mine started collecting the DVD sets and I started watching it when I was at his place. True it has it dreaded "O.C." moments, but over all it is a great series. Your comment regarding "Superboy" is whats off the Mark. The show isn't about "Superboy" it's about Clark Kent before he becomes Superman. Superboy created almost 20 years after Superman, and was a ploy to cash in on Big Blues popularity. As long as Smallville stay consistant with-in it's own contanuity I simply see it as an Else World series. Smallville is about as on the mark as a Superhero series is going to get on todays telivition.

I think Wonder Woman could work if Alfred Gough & Miles Millar did it after Smallville. Idealy the best thing would have been a "back door pilot" off of Smallville, sort of like Xena getting her own show after Hercules (I don't know if it was a BD Pilot or not but the show did well). In the 9 year Smallville has run I am actually suprised they didn't try brining in Bruce Wayne or Princess Diana in some form or another, but over all I would say Smallville has turned out to be a pretty good series dispite a few bumps here and there. Gough and Millar also helped write Spider-Man 2 witch was better then the first and third films witch were shit.

This discription of the "New" Wonder Woman show doesn't bold well in my opinion, and only convinces me that a comic book person (George Perez) should write the damn thing.

Adrianne Palicki takes lead role of Wonder Woman
By Zahra Habib

Actress Adrianne Palicki, the star of Friday Night Lights, has been casted for the lead role of NBC’s new show Wonder Woman.

TVLine.com learned the news about Palicki on Wednesday which stated that the star would play three roles in the show; first being that of none other than wonder woman, second as Diana Themyscira, a billionaire CEO and third of Diana’s assistant Diana Prince. When the creators manage to pull the third one off well, she really will be wonder woman.

Other cast members include Steve Trevor, Mindy and Veronica Cale, though the last character is the villain. Script writer David E. Kelley will not only pen the show but also be an executive producer with Bill D’Elia. Jeffrey Reiner will direct.

This is really, really stupid, I mean it makes JMS's revamp look good. To quote The Rock, "It's 10 pounds of monkey crap in a 5 pound bag!" thats how bad this is. Somebody please get the boys from Smallville on the phone.

Am I confused or is there going to be a TV series and a motion picture? If the latter is true I wonder if they're risking market oversaturation.

Oh and...

Just a TV series, or at least a TV movie. I think they are going to do a TV movie, and see how it is recieved, if the raitings are good then it will be turned into a TV series. Thats pretty much what they did for both Cathy Lee Crosby (in 74) and Lynda Carter (in 75). IMO it's all going to be for shit, it will get such a bad review that there will never be another attempt at a Wonder Woman film project again.

That is a shame to hear. As a long running fan of Smallville, I have to say they did an amazing job on the overall story. However, many would-be fans, even devoted Superman fans, missed out because they assumed the story continued in the same fashion as the first season.

The truth is, Smallville is great because of how it started. The first four seasons, out of character as they may be, added a true human feel to superman that he otherwise never had. It is currently on Season 10. The first 4 seasons covered his 4 years in highschool grades 9-12, learning about his powers and otherwise being as typical a highschool boy as he could be. After that he started moving closer and closer to becoming Superman, dealing with bigger and nastier opponents with each creeping season.

I would strongly suggest, if you are any sort of a comics fan, to give the show a second try. It is probably the television/movie rendition of Superman I have seen yet.

I felt it had jumped the shark during season 5, but (as I said) when a friend started collecting the DVD sets it got me back into it (thought I only watched them on DVD not on TV). I now have the 1-9 run that I picked up for a good price at HMV and am looking forward to Season 10 when it comes out. I think Venray may be going a little hard on the show (something I was guilty of as well), but then again he may just be pissed that it is made in Canada.

Personally I think Superman is the worst hero in comics, he is a boring read, and Smallville is 100 time better then the book ever was. Like bat man said "The last time you inspired anybody Clark, was when you died."

I wonder if she'll talk like a modern woman the way she did in the 70s tv show, and in the Justice League animated series. Or if she'll be all "halt, evil-doer!" like she is in DC Universe Online. The Justice League version of Wonder Woman is the one I find the sexiest. They made her more feminine than she was in the old SuperFriends cartoon, where she did absolutely nothing for me.

I felt that the live action tv series Wonder Woman was the sexiest... because it was a real person, and not 2D art... not that it matter, cause I'll never beable to touch either one. Oh well at leat I still have my "Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman" statue to molest... er... I mean... admire.

Maybe both. Something like "modern" for when she's relaxed, or in mostly good mood. More formal when she first shows up , but then the formal way of speaking could end up being for: "you have seriously pissed me off, and I'm about to kick your ass"

A couple years ago there was a Wonder Woman animated movie, I just watched it tonight. She's voiced by Keri Russell, instead of Susan Eisenberg who voiced her in the Justice League animated series. Rated PG-13, probably for the blood which there is a fair amount of.

Maybe the WW action figure $$$ will tide them over.....

Yeah. They should have stuck with a remake of ''The Incredible Hulk" starring Paul Reubens. Oh, wait, all those shredded raincoats would burst the budget. 😉 I hope the WW series makes it. Now all they need to do is thaw out Lyle Wagonner down in Carol Bunette's basement.

As much as I would like to see both Lynda and Lyle make cameo's in the new Wonder Woman series (it would probably be the highlight of the show), I think Lyle has been doing quite well for himself, and has managed to stay quite thawed and active, even if he isn't acting anymore.

Lyle is the owner of STAR WAGGONS INC., the largest supplier of studio location rental trailers in the entertainment industry.

By the way, when did they decide not to go with the Hulk Series?
