I concur with this sentiment mightly.

Perhaps it is hard to differentiate those who have a foot fetish and can not control it to those who can. I know myself that I do not have qualms stealing a glance at a dangling foot on an attractive female. I do not, however, see a reason for someone to come up to that same person, mouth frothing with wanton desire, unable to look the person straight in the face.

I think most of it is interlaced with online persona. You can hide behind your ISP to a certain extent. Autonomy through a screen name is the key.

I view feet as an attractive quality to a female, but no more so that her face or her eyes. I guess that is part of my issue with a lot of the feet-centric people who only fulfill certain archetypes given their actions. They sort of give the collective lot a bad name...a disgusting reputation that makes an already unwieldy topic even more difficult to broach.

Well given how those that can't are the ones putting out the bad word about it, yeah, the general public would find that hard. I myself am fairly capable. There's nothing wrong with you stealing a glance at something you find attractive, and that would make you the latter. The former, sadly, are the ones you see more often around here. Those are the ones that annoy the hell out of me.

I mean really, if you see something with feet, you can say you like it without capitalizing and highlighting the word feet for example...

The question this thread asks opens a can of worms. Why do people love feet and why does the content here focus on that? Well, some people like me just like tickling them and care not for fetishism beyond that. Some people enjoy certain things about feet (clean, dirty, socks, a certain gender etc the whole nineyards). But to ask why one loves it? I suggest reading about psychology. Why do I enjoy foot tickling? HELL if I know, though it has to do with my past experiences and emotions.
It's all a matter of personal taste. Everyone has it, and everyone deserves dignity and respect for what they prefer, and the same for what they dont. (given if it is legal).

Please, do not put the blame on foot fans if you cannot comfortably come out of the closet with your own brand of fetish.

I'm trying to think of what it is that I like about feet tickling (to be specific, the soles). I guess it has something to do with the fact that they are so far away from your brain - but, yet, they can be so unbearably ticklish. For a lot of people, the feet do tend to be the most sensitive - and probably the one part of our body that most of us tend to take for granted. So, when the soles are actually being tickled, it can be a shock - because many of us don't even take the time to appreciate our feet, and how useful they are.

I like the idea of placing someone prone on the bed, restraining the person securely, and relentlessly tickling the soles. I like the idea of knowing that the person is trying so hard to block out the tickling sensation, but they can't. They are forced to laugh helplessly and take the unbearable torment in the one spot they don't usually even think about.

Pff, it's mostly that the foot fetish scene is pretty huge and there's considerable overlap with tickling. Hence more people liking pictures of foot tickling as it covers BOTH fetishes and more content producers making foot tickling scenes as it'll get them the most profit.

I do agree that some people can be a bit... overbearing tho, mercifully they're in a minority. Alas you'll find that, as with everything, the minority tends to be bloody loud!
