OHHHHHHHH, The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow, Tomorrow

14 days of water with over 20 inches on the ground....wait..what is that thing in the sky...blinding light....getting warm...no...HOT...puddles shrinking.......

Apocalypse!!!!! Apocalypse!!!!!

No Rain Here! The sun has been out since early this morning! Wooo Hooo! I listened to the weather report, and they say the forecast is for sunny weather all week. Thank Heavens! We have had enough rain, and the sunshine and warmth will finally give us a chance to dry out, and give us watter logged people a rest from the rain!

I was in a wedding yesterday, which was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony, no chance! We were on something like our 11th day in a row with rain. Only if the bride had planned it one day later, today is exceptionally beautiful out.....no rain!
Btw, the wedding was beautiful anyway!

And, a splendid day it is. Just gorgeous.

I remember a 13 day stretch back in May '98, back when I played in the beer league after hours. Softball in a bathing suit...

There was another time, around my 14th birthday, it rained buckets for seven straight days. It ended on a Friday night. My most vivid memory was riding home from school on the Q-16 bus, up Francis Lewis Boulevard. As we made the left on Willets Point, there was a huge puddle of water, we're talking Ninth Ward deep. In the middle of it, there was a boat-tailed Buick Riviera, across the street, and it was literally sinking. The man got out of his car, climbed on the hood, and cried for help as we passed by. We mean-spirited, jaded, nasty New York 14-year-olds thought it was just hilarious, as New York kids would.

Not funny: we had a lot of cars come in this week, with flooded interiors...pretty scary, after you've pretty much secured everything. Of course with the VWs, the owner's manual tells you that you have to clean off the intake screens on top of the firewall of leaves and dirt, or things like this happen. The Audis, well...much more complicated. I'm just glad all of this is over.

Here in Southern California, we're expecting a storm, possibly as early as Sunday (which would put a damper on the Angels game, just like the White Sox's pitchers :disgust: ). But I feel for all of you in the northeast who've been getting so much rain some places there are flooded. 🙁 I hope all of you get some sun soon to get a chance to "dry out." 🙂

Traveling in the wretched rainstorm was no fun at all. 🙁
I'm glad to be home again and dry. 😀
