I'm genuinely curious, because I'm sure many of you have met folks during your lifetime with a genuinely kick-booty name. On the flip side, feel free to relate any that, perhaps, you had to control yourself not to snicker about. I'll get us started...

Had an ex-girlfriend by the name of Winter, which I found beautiful. More recently, I have befriended a young lady by the name of Nico. I think that is rather nice as well.

Carry on... 😉

Well, I "sort of" know a girl who changed her name to Aurora, that's the most notable one I can think of right now. Oh and my aunt had some people from Burkina Faso living with her for a while, I remember one of them were called "Raketa". I bet that's a perfectly normal name in Africa, but it stood out to me at the time because I was 10 years old and "Raket" in Swedish means "Rocket". 🙂 I thought it was badass as hell! XD lol

Last night I was watching football and they had a guy playing who's last name was "Bushrod".

I lol'd.

Snail Shell

Damla.. means raindrop in Turkish.
However... she is a bitch.

My dad's name is Kallyn. Named for the singer Kitty Callen. We always know it's a telemarketer on phone when they mispronounce his name.

I also have an aunt named Sheann, an aunt named Shereen, a cousin named Shaylyn, a cousin named Kalina, and another cousin named Brielle.

I knew a Büjene -- Turkish for "Little Flowers" as I recall.

Fireguardian adds a friend: "Priti" -- should be pronounced "pree-tee", but we just call her "Pretty". 🙂

One of the most unique names that I've ever encountered? Rance. I had never heard it before and I always, always thought it was the coolest name.

It looks really cool next to my name now. "Katie and Rance." My name is so unoriginal.

I like to think 'Lenare' is a pretty darn cool name 😀
But that's me being a little egotistical :smilelove

The name Rance is pretty cool....but it reminds me of Scooby Doo trying to say Lance hehe :bouncybou

There was a guy I worked with who was engaged to this girl named Shandy. She was named after a KISS song and was nice. I am not a huge fan of that name but she was a cool. However one time I told him that her name sounded like Sean Connery saying "Sandy" and he died with laughter 🙄

Talking about cool names...I knew a girl in middle school named Athena. I also was in a class freshmen year of college with an Artemis and a Rowan. All really neat names 🙂!

Cool thread Adam! :faint:

Everyone says my name (my real name) is really cool.

I have known some people with "intresting" names, but unless I posted the first and last name it would mean nothing. And I'm not sure that would be right.

My ex business partner's name is Elwood. We all call him Butch, but the first time I saw his legal name on company contracts and papers, I was like "cool". He's also a great guy.

Mitch

One of my friends is named Siobhan (pronounced "chevon") which I though was kinda neat. Apparently, it was a pain in the ass learning to spell her own name--hooked on phonics failed her in this instance.

There was a girl I knew in college who had a boyfriend who was rather proud of his name: Ransom.

I know a guy called Blaise (pronounced Blaze) - pretty badass I think, and he's a complete nutter to go with it.

I know like 100 Siobhans! But to be fair it is a very common Irish name.

i once knew a guy called phil hiscock and he had a brother called paul.

not so much cool.... quite unfortunate. Parents must have been pissed.

I knew a girl in school several years younger than me named Chevelle.

Also a friend of mine named her daughter McKailey.
