Favorite "Simpsons" Quote?

Phil Hartman played Zapp Brannigen? I had no idea. i really should have been able to put that together!

since my post featured so much Phil Hartman, here's my fav of his from Futurama:

Um.....dude?....I hate to tell you this but that isnt Phil Hartman, he's dead. Zapp is done by Billy West who also does Fry, Professor Farnsworth and Dr. Zoidberg. (Not to mention both Ren and Stimpy 😛)

For the record I will say that originally the part was in fact written for Phil Hartman back when Matt Groening was first developing the show and West does sound a lot like him doing that voice.

oh, my mistake

Edit: I'm aware he's dead

And I listened to all the commentaries so I must have remembered Matt saying that. Both Phil and Billy do so many voices.

Ha! Now I dont feel (quite so) stupid! I knew Hartman was dead but I wasn't sure if Futurama was made before or after the fact. Thanks, CC. 😛

I really havent watched The Simpsons much since I was a kid but this sticks out in my mind as being terribly funny. It was during, I think, one of their Halloween Specials. Those were always my favorites.

Homer reads a sign out loud.

" 'Don't touch, Willy'...Good advice."
*proceeds to touch whatever he was warned against touching with catesprophic results I'm sure*

😛

That was a good show. "...In their dreams!" Willy said that to the parents while he was on fire, thanks to Homer 'touching' and doing the opposite of the "Don't Touch, Willy" sign. Nelson quote from later on in that show, "Yea, he got me with his floor cleaner."

And, thanks to Willie, the French will forever be known in the English-speaking world as "cheese-eating surrender monkeys."

Nice to see Willy get such a workout. Here's another, from an episode in which he chases Santa's Little Helper through the school's ventilation system:

Willy: Gotcha! There's nary an animal alive that can outrun a greased Scottsman!

(Further funny dialogue... a young Ned Flanders is brought to a psychiatrist's office by his hipster parents, who are dismayed at his rowdy behavior)

Ned (playing with action figures): I'm Dick Tracy! Take that, Pruneface! Blam! I'm Pruneface! Take that, Dick Tracy! Pow! I'm Prune Tracy! Take that, Dick--

Psychiatrist: Ned...

(Later in the same episode)

Ned's Dad: You gotta help us, Doc!
Ned's Mom: Yeah! We've tried nothin', and we're all outta ideas!

(From King Homer, a Treehouse of Horror King Kong takeoff: Mr. Burns, in the Carl Denham role, brings Marge, in the Ann Darrow role, aboard ship for the first time)

Smithers: In my opinion, sir, women and seamen don't mix.
Burns: We all know what you think, Smithers!

(Later in the same episode)

Lenny (as a sailor): Where are we going?
Carl (as a sailor): Ape Island.
Lenny: What do they have there?
Carl: Apes.
Lenny: Gee, I wish we were going to Candy Apple Island.
Carl: What do they have there?
Lenny: Apes. But they're not so big.

GAH! That's the raunchiest thing I've ever heard come out of SimpsonsLand!!

Homer
"I'm smarter than the devil"
I'm smarter than the devil"

Ned Flanders aka the devil
"You are not smarter than the devil"

"Find your soul mate, Homer."
--the Mystical Coyote Homer sees in his atomic chili-induced hallucination.

This isn't a funny line or one that makes a lot of sense out of context, but it's one of my favorite scenes in the series. And Johnny Cash as the coyote is the most inspired bit of casting they ever pulled off.

::Homer walks into Mr. Burn's office::
"Here are your messages, Mr. Burns:
You have thirty minutes to move your car.
You have ten minutes.
Your car has been impounded.
You car has been crushed into a cube.
You have thirty minutes to move your cube."

ROFL I remember that. For some reason that last line always struck me as being ludicrously fiunny. 😛

"I'd rather drink a beer then win father of the year! We're happy just the way we are!"- Homer

"Can I be a booze hound?- Bart

"Not till you're fifteen."- Homer

(during their song with Sherry Bobbins, a Mary Poppins rif-off)

Don't Have A Cow , Man...................................

"hello, My Name Is Jessica....."

*its breakfast time*

"As long as you're under my roof you'll do what I do and believe what I believe! Now bacon up that sausage, boy!"- Homer

"But dad....my heart hurts..."- Bart (after having eaten too much fat already)

"Bacon it....!"- Homer

*Bart does as he's told and wraps a strip of bacon around his sausage then eats it*

[to the tune of frank sinatara's "when i was seventeen"]

Homer: We had some good times beer....
When I was 17,
I drank some very good beer...
I drank some very good beer,
that I purchased
with a fake id
my name was brian mcgee
i stayed up all night listening to Queen,
When I was 17...

or of course the Ralph quotes these 2 for example from the Valentine's Day Special...

"I Choo Choo Choooooose You"
"Let's Beee Friends"

Oh, bringing back an old thread, because my favorite wasn't listed.

It's when Homer is trying to fix up Principal Skinner and Selma.

(Homer) "I thought Selma didn't like to be, you know, touched."

(Marge) "Patty is the one who chose a life of celibacy. Selma had celibacy thrust upon her."

lmao

Ya know Federkitzler I have to say I love your avatar.......I laugh every time I see it. LOL

"Your hair is big...and pretty."- Ralph to Marge

"Why thank you, Ralph! You're such a gentleman."- Marge (puts her hand on his shoulder)

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Daddy! She's touching me on my special area!"- Ralph

"Mrs. Hoover?"- Ralph

"Yes, Ralph?"- Mrs. Hoover

"I ate my crayon!"- Ralph

"Sigh....well then just go to sleep Ralph!"- Mrs. Hoover

"Yay! Sleep! Thats where I'm a viking! *goes to sleep*"- Ralph

Can you imagine Ralph as a viking? LOL! ^^

I remember that one. And then Homer, at the dinner table is like:

"Whats wrong, boy?"- Homer

"Sigh...its Milhouse's mom. She says I'm a bad influence. She won't let me play with him any more."- Bart

"You mean that four eyes with the big nose?! You don't need friends like that!"- Homer

LOL

Homer seems to have something against Milhouse cause when he talks about him it's never good.

*Homer is having dinner with Mr. Burns and his son in Mr. Burn's estate and Mr. Burns isn't liking it*

"Come on dad...make with the yakkedy yak yak..."- Mr. Burn's lost son

"....sigh....yakkedy yak yak....YOU, foodbag! *points to Homer*Do YOU have a son?"- Mr. Burns

"Yes sir, I do. *with his mouth full of food*- Homer

"And is he a constant disappointment?! Does he bring him NITWITS and make you TALK to them?"- Mr. Burns *making his son feel bad and mocking Homer though Homer is too dumb to realize he's refering to him*

"Oh all the time! Have you ever heard of this kid Milhouse? He's this little weiner who...*is interupted by Mr. Burns*"- Homer

"Facinating! Good night!"- Mr. Burns *gets up and leaves*

*Homer, Marge, Bart and Milhouse are playing a dating boardgame and Bart gets a random date and the kid on the card he gets looks alot like Milhouse*

*Marge and Homer laugh*

"Look, you got the dud!"- Marge

"Yeah, the kid on the card looks just like you!- Homer *shows the card to Milhouse*

*laughs at Milhouse some more and then nudges him with his elbow*

"Come on. Stand up for yourself pointdexter!"- Homer
