i think i'll do this after every permiership weekend
Well here i am again offering my analysis of the big 4 premiership teams. should anyone else have a premiership team they wish me to include, just let me know.
Chelsea - To be honest i was glad shevchenko scored, however i cant say it was the most convincing chelsea performance. they were in good form though they let in another goal. the defence doesn't seem as miserly as it was last season, although they are still the best in shutting up shop and not allowing anything to penetrate. They'll miss Petr Cech (and i rescind my comment about the challenge being like that of Ben Thatcher, after seeing it again it was a genuine football accident) but Hilario does seem up to the task. Confidence got a massive boost by beating Barcelona in the champions league and it should continue to spur them on. Although they need to tie Frank Lampard down quick before he disappears off to spain.
Man Utd - disintegrated Liverpool. there's no other word for it. Well played Paul Scholes. Credit given where credit is due and fair play to him, he realises its just another game where 3 points is the aim. Rooney looked good too i thought as did Darren Fletcher who was the ultimate in no - nonsense football, that's exactly what they needed and well done to him. United are still a class act and showed exactly why they can play (arguably) the best football in the premiership. Ferguson outclassed Benitez who really should realise to achieve consistency you need to let the team gel together by playing the same line up.
Liverpool - *sighs* well im sorry Rafa Benitez but you only have yourself to blame. tinkering for the 97th game running????? What are you thinking? Whatever you said to the team before the game and at half time didnt work because united outplayed and outclassed them. Even Stevie Gerrard could drag them from mediocrity. So unfortunately the team that a lot of people had down as the main challengers to Chelsea, are, at the moment, no longer a figure in the title race.
Arsenal - where Man Utd achieved a draw and Chelsea scraped a win, the Gunners simply blasted Reading off the pitch. To the neutral fan it was the ultimate demonstration of passing and moving. To an Arsenal fan it was simple beautiful. Francesc Fabregas showed why he'll be the greatest midfielder in the world in a few yrs. Henry showed why he's the best in the world now and Arsene Wenger showed us all that it is definitely a three horse race for the title. Welcome to the title race Arsenal. Welcome to reality Reading.
