Am I invisible? How do I know if I'm invisible? How would I know if I was truly invisible, or if people were just ignoring me? If I'm invisible, how can I be sure I even exist? Do I exist? If I fall in the forest and nobody is around to hear me, do I make a sound? What's the meaning of life? :scared:😕:cry1:

I found the option when I was messing with all the fancy things we have to play with here and I liked it so much I decided to keep it! Mainly to drive you insane! :thumbsup:
 
I do it because I'm like a ninja and it allows me the freedom to move from shadow to shadow. :paranoia:

And it keeps stalkers at bay.

I've played around with the invisible feature, but ultimately I decided I didn't like it. I enjoy when people see I'm online and send me a random VM or something. What can I say, I enjoy the stalkers.

I'm visible at the moment, but I started turning going invisible sporadically when you started making lewd comments about the videos I was watching. Stalker. 😉
 
How does one turn invisible here? I thought maybe it would be like the Invisible Man, where he had to take his clothes off (since his clothes are visible)....but I'm just sitting here naked and cold. What did I miss?
 
Why would anyone wear the Ring of Gyges? So they can do what they want without distraction or interference, I reckon... Now, I love ya' all, but I don't do a whole lot of chatting for many reasons I won't enumerate here (though chief among which are dial-up frustrations), and VMs and PMs have been generalized in my mind as an extension of that, so until I get back into the mood for chatting like I once did, the Ring fits quite well, is all...
 
Done it a couple times, used the Invisible Mode, but it didn't really change anything. I like people knowing that I'm currently online so if they want to, they can talk to me and I can respond back immediately.

That and I'm so not a ninja. I can't sneak up on anyone worth shit. 😛

I kinda asked this question a couple years ago, wondering why people hide while online. I got some interesting responses to it.
 
Some people become invisible , but only when no one is looking :

Well, I learned that when people see you online on the forum they expect you to get on msn/skype/yahoo/what have you. Since I am oftentimes on rather sporadically on the forum, I turned on invisibility mode as a matter of convenience.

That said, lately I've been thinking about turning the function off. However, while I don't mind people seeing I'm online, I do kind of dislike the thought that they can see exactly which thread I'm in, if I'm replying to a topic, which blog I'm reading, if I'm having a "private moment" 🙂D) in the artwork section, etc. I can be a rather private person, and don't much care for "feeling watched". It's unpleasant, quite frankly. I know that might seem irrational to some, but to me it makes perfect sense. 😛
 
Short of being pelted by cosmic rays, how does one turn invisible here? I seem to be the only one unaware of this.
