Okay... this may not be a popular topic, lol. But what the hell is up with all you folks in "Invisible" mode? Especially those of you who are so called "established" on this forum.

What have you got to hide? I realize its a personal preference and the function is there for a reason... but I would assume moreso for the ladies on this forum who tend to get harassed. More and more I see more guys, "high profilers" if you will, turning the green light off.... WTF???

Seriously... just a pet peeve of mine. For example, in the SSF someone will drop a bomb out of nowhere and we're like... huh? what? where did that come from? LMAO... I'm being tongue in cheek... but you get my drift. I just find it very strange.

Someone explain this phenomenon to me, please? :pweese:

I have that problem with anyone, from any site that is invisible. even dating sites. why the hell are you even on then.
 
I hate friends on invisible. It makes it hard to compulsively stalk them.
 
Typically harassment, people tend to leave me be when I'm on Invisible. (But, I mean I'm obviously not invisible anymore)

I dunno about the rest of the guys here, but no one stalks me. Except the process servers.
 
Not to derail the fun. But, if you want a serious answer, I personally use it because the vast majority of my time is spent compiling info. for the directories. I tend to be distracted fairly easily. So, leaving myself on invisible mode tends to allow me fewer distractions...though I generally will take a break to respond if someone PMs me. 🙂
 
I don't even know how to go into invisible mode? I probably wouldn't though because I dunno, it's no biggie. I don't have a stalker though so that's probably why lol. Even if I did, I'd just ignore them anyways. Butthead stalkers. :neenerneener:

Thanks Ann 🙂 Yes, as fun as the above posts have been... I am truly looking for a serious answer to this question. Yours makes sense. However, it doesn't for everyone... I'm sure there are other reasons? :juggle:

And truly, I think Glam's comment did have some merit 😉
