So yes I know...Lent started over a week ago but I just wondered has anyone here given up anything?

I am not Catholic or anything but I thought I'd give Lent a try this year! So for Lent this year I gave up soda. It's hard because I found a store where I can buy a 12 pack of diet wild cherry Pepsi for $1.99. Ah well...after Easter I can begin drinking it 😉. Instead I have started drinking more juice, tea, and water! I do miss my soda though!

Just wondering, did any of you guys give up something for Lent? If yes...then what? 😀

:kirby: <--this emoticon always makes me laugh 😀

I wished I could quit Diet Coke. By the way, I have a crucifix on my bedroom wall. I kinda believe in God, and I have Irish Catholic in me...me and my brother tried to kill each other on a regular basis.

Planning an adaptation of the Book of Exodus (Moses) for a 3D Graphic Novel.

I always forget to give something up for Lent - mostly because I never know when Lent starts until something like this happens.

Maybe I'll start now and give up...I don't know what. I'll check back.

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday...or the day after Mardi Gras madness ends 🙂 and lasts til Easter. Then you can indulge and get sick on Easter candy!!! I am hoping for Peeps. And yes...despite being in college my mother still makes me an easter basket 😀!!! Peeps....yum! And Robin's eggs (aka whoppers <3)

Never!!!!!! 🙂

And as soon as i had enough power, i dont even allow any limitations like no meat on certain days.

I actually gave up masturbation for Lent.

No lie.

I am not being sarcastic.

God never intended for that to happen.

Well if you're going to give up something for lent, it should be something you enjoy and something that is a challenge to give up. I chose this. figure if Jesus can walk the wilderness being tempted for 40 days I can not touch my pee pee.

I've involuntarily given up my laptop, but I'm not actively trying to get it fixed, so I'm kinda goin' with the flow. I figure it'll be at least 40 days before I can acquire another Windows disk to reformat my Lappy 486. I also don't wanna turn it on, again, because I found out from my internet service provider when they disabled my internet, that it was turned into an e-mail spam bot. I'm not sure how much spam it can send out in the amount of time it'd take me to start it up and disable the wifi. I'd rather my internet not get shut off again, so I can AT LEAST get Wii updates. I'm not turning it on again until I can reformat it.

Lesson learned: Do NOT buy anti-virus software ever again! Microsoft Security Essentials is free, and is apparently awesome (I just wish I could install it!). Malwarebytes is also awesome, and can function decently without one having to pay for it.

i never know when lent is, so no. i didn't give anything up. and i probably wouldn't have, not because it's not part of my religious practice, but more so that i don't think i need to give anything up. but that's just me.
