5 years ago I had a tumor removed from my lower distal femur. Shortly after surgery, I broke that same bone in a spiral fracture that went from my knee to more than halfway up the femur.
To fix things, a titanium steel plate was affixed to the femur. For the past 3 years it has been bothering me and has gotten so progressively painful that I was compelled to set up surgery to remove it.
Surgery is set for April third.
When I went to the doctor's yesterday, I took a disc containing some pics of the hardware on x-rays so that the bone surgeon could see what he was getting into. After he looked at them, he gave me the disc. So Cool!
So... I thought I would share with you the pic of the culprit that has to be removed.
Healing, I was told would be much more rapid then when it went in (of course... before I had a broken bone), so I am looking forward to a speedy recovery even though I am not looking forward to the physical therapy that goes with it.
But... bottom line is... my leg won't get so cold in the winter, when it rains I will no longer limp, I won't get those damned twinges and I will be able to run and jump and play with all the other boys and girls again.

I have included a pic that shows the side of the thigh where the present scar is. If you look close you can see it. I'm hoping this doctor is just as skilled at sewing me up as the last.

So folks... you've seen the outside of my legs... now it's time for the inside.

(Pardon the quality of the xray... the program used to put the x-rays on the disc wouldn't allow me to save from it so I had to print it then scan it.)

Oh... and yes I get to keep the hardware.

good luck and my thoughts will be with you then... and i aint looking at that picture lolol

My thoughts and prayers and....

As a Bear Totem Shaman of the Ancient Khazar Rite, I know how to cast healing spells, which have sometimes seemed to work. If you will give me permission, I would like to cast healing spells for you, starting on the day after the surgery. I have looked at the x-ray in order to guide the spells more exactly. :smilestar

Best of luck with the surgery. You have beautiful legs, by the way. Even the X-ray was kind of sexy. 😉

I had surgery on my knee a couple years ago. I remember all about that physical therapy. :cry1:
I'll say a prayer that it goes quickly and you heal completely.
You have a good positive attitude about the whole thing. :couch: That's terrific!

Hubba-Hubba! I love a stocking-clad leg! :smilelove
Now if you'd just include the top half so we could see all of you... :xpulcy:
And if you'd just take your shoes off and point your soles at the camera... :feets:
And if you'd get one of us to stroke your soles while someone else photographs your response... <<<<----
(You get the idea.)

Anyway, nice pic of your legs!

wow

Hope the surgeon is well acquainted with these procedures hon.
Best of luck, we are all pulling for you (no pun intended).

As I told you earlier, I've had this surgery before, and it's a breeze, compared to getting the break and having the rod inserted. LOL. I'm sure you'll be back on those lovely feet, teasing and amusing us and yourself. 😉

Take care Mz. Chaos. I'll be thinking about you and get well soon.

I wish you all the best, Mz C. I really do hope the operation gives you a "leg up" on the recovery. (No. He didn't just say that, did he? )

I hope everything goes well, and you're back on your feet soon. 🙂
