got big problem with minor

Myriads post made me think of something, and Iam wondering how this question is answered.
What would happen if a parent is a member of this site, and while they were at work or away, their under 18 child surfs the net, gets in here under their account, and begins chatting in the room or posting? The parent then comes home, finds out, is furious at their kid, and explains the situation to you. Would the parent be penalized and be banned under that circumstance? I have no kids, so Iam years away from having to think about this hypothetical situation, but it just made me wonder. Any mod who would have an answer to this question, an explanation would be appreciated. Thanks.

Mitch

By the Book.......even talking with a "minor" about anything even remotely related to sexual material is in violation of "the law".
IF the questions are strictly about a site or sites related to tickling, I would direct them to Yahoo groups, specifically for Teens, that are related to tickling. There are at LEAST a few there.
The TMF is strictly for those 18 and over and you want to leave no room for error or misunderstandings that could get you and or this site in trouble.
IF the conversations remain strictly between you and this person, I advise you to keep it very general if nothing else but with discretion and kindness forward them over to the groups in Yahoo that are for teens and tell them why so as not to offend them or make them feel belittled. Remember, we were ALL where this person is right now. they just need direction and guidance.
Back in the days when alot of us were under 18.......there was no internet and the venues for such tickle material were so limited we had nowhere to go. Now in these days, there is a virtual plethora of sites and material for all including teens and even younger for that matter. Yahoo groups is the place you want to send this person to. Tell this person to Type tickling in the search engine and then keep scrolling. There are specific sites that are just for teens and "kids" that are, at least aledgedly, run BY teens or under 18 people who love tickling. They are not alone like we were way back when.

That is my "bucks" worth or advise.

I'm not Myr (thankfully for him 😉 ). But, I would think that the parent would be encouraged to change their SN/password and boost the security on their system to try to avoid this in the future. When I had my yahoo groups, I had a couple of incidents...one where a parent found a kid using their account and the other where the kid used their own and the parent discovered it. In both cases, they wrote me, very upset about it. I thanked them for taking action, assured them that this is not allowed by the group, banned the SNs/IPs and advised them on ways to discourage similar things in the future.

You SHOULD advise young people. You should answer questions. Answering questions does not constitute pedophillia. It is a tradition that was passed down long before this current paranoia. It is important, not wrong.

While I agree with the spirit of what you say, it doesn't always work in practice. Yes. Those who are trustworthy should be allowed to instruct our youth. But, not everyone is trustworthy. And, on the net, it's even harder to discern who to trust/not trust. Even if it wasn't a matter of legalities, I'd have a problem with talking to just anyone. There are people out there who are predators or who simply like messing with peoples heads. As much as I'd like to think otherwise, it simply isn't safe. That's not paranoia. It's sad fact.

If I had kids, I could think of ways to let them explore their sexuality...maybe even some online, but with proper supervision in order to protect them.

One more point to ponder...think of what might happen if this person's Parents find out what you are talking about with their children....and then decide what risks you are willing to take...

Thats a good point...:wow:

Hmmmmm

Let me tell you what I would do first before I provide some food for thought.

I don't EVER (unless the person has lied to me) chat with someone about ANYTHING if they are below the age of 18. Conversation Over regardless of said topic!

As an educator, I mean, I could get fired just for being here. It's stupid really because I don't push my views of tickling or anything else that could be interpreted sexually to my students. Yet, becauae I am not a nun, or living this pristine and pure lifestyle, I'm somehow a threat to children. I think it's pretty stupid, but I understand the reasoning of it, somewhat. Well, hell... no I don't. My love for tickle play WITH ADULTS does not effect my teaching. So I think it's a load of crap!

So, no, if a person tells me they are a minor the conversation is over immediately. Period. I just cannot afford to lose my livelyhood over something as stupid as an internet chat. (How dumb would that be?)

Now... on the other hand, I've been that teenager who was curious but didn't know a thing!

My parents NEVER talked to me about sex and I mean NEVER. I don't know if they felt that if they sheltered me enough, I would never think about it, or hear about it at all. Not only did they NOT talk to me about sex, they would not let me take sex education at school, I wasn't allowed to watch R rated movies, couldn't go to sleep overs, couldn't date until I was 18... man So many rules...

My point is, I ended up going to college knowing nothing. Absolutely nothing. And I asked every friend and every adult that I was close to about sex (males and females).

And not being quite 18 years old when I started college, if all the adults I spoke to froze up and sent me packing, I mean, I wouldn't have shrivelled up and died, but I think things would have been more difficult.

I mean, I started checking out books about sex from the library for goodness sakes! That's how bad it was. LOL (By the way, those books sure had a lot about tickling in them. Dusty old books in the empty section of my college library. LOL)

I can kind of relate to both sides of it. I know I would probably do some things differently if I wasn't a teacher, but I don't know about the minor thing. My view would definitely remain the same. I know if I wasn't a teacher, I'd have a few tatoos, a couple of piercings, I'd be shooting tickle videos, I'd probably own a dungeon... LOL I'm serious!

Oh well... I hope you can see my point. The adults that I confided in and who gave me much needed advise, I appreciate them. At the same time, I just can't be one of the ones who chats with minors online.

*sigh* Had people under 18 attempt to get into the West Coast Gatherings. It's SO painful to have to tell 'em no. It ain't like we can't remember BEING under 18. There ain't a plethora of information about this for us, and school ain't so supportive about things sexual. It's that whole legal problem, plus the pregnancy, sexually-transmitted disease, etc.

Complications.

Essentially, if someone under 18 didn't listen to us, and stayed here, all that has to happen is for their parents or guardians to have enough computer-saavy to figure it out, and they're busted, we're facing legal hassles galore, and no one's happy.

Helpin' a kid out seems kind, but in this case, it's a VERY fine line. Just picture being the parent (for those of you that aren't) and find out that the child you're raising is talkin' things sexual, and sexually deviant at that, to some ADULT. Most parents start findin' somethin' large and blunt, or sharp and pointy, if they aren't just loading a magazine, y'know?

It's a rough deal, 'cause most of us WANT to help a kid out, but CAN'T go anywhere NEAR things sexual, and this forum is about tickling as an interest, and includes a likely majority of folks with a SEXUAL interest.

Right there, you add someone under 18 AND an angry parent, and I can see the flashing lights already.

Sucks, too, 'cause I'd've been SO stoked to find this as a kid! Even knowing it's there, like the nightclubs you wait patiently to legally attend, is better than just wondering if you'd ever get to practice such delight.

It's why patience is a virtue. Non-virtuous behavior gets the site shut down, and then you don't get it, and future chances of it are heavily secured, thus expensive, thus sparsely attended.

Best to just lay low and wait, when you think it out.

Venray, wasn't there a sophisto site for those underage to find info about this interest? Is it still live?

There's also the possibility...

...that it's actually a cop pretending to be a minor to see if you'll take the bait. Minors are verboten, mein herr. I'd advise a heart felt NO!

In answer to Mitch's question from above.

The users account would be suspended until they could provide proof to me that they were of age.

Once a an ID is associated with a minor (Via the user saying they are a minor, or some link to information that indicates they are a minor) we consider that user a minor until they can prove otherwise.

Well, I am really happy I don't live in the US. It seems that considering sexual issues with minors (except pedophiles ofcourse) people over here are alot more relaxed. Heck, I owned quite an impressive collection of porn-mags before I was 12, and no-one made a big fuss about it. I've discovered porn on internet (that was a couple of years before I found out that there was TK-material too, or that I truly discovered TK was my big turn-on) when I was about 14 - 15. My parents never told anything about sex, but that wasn't necessary because I found out alot about female bodies before I was 12 as I mentioned before. Thing is you want to discover everything at that age, the explorer age. I sometimes read in the newspapers about kids aged 15 gettin themselves killed in accidents caused by the fact they want to find out about stuff and forget to think rationally. I did that stuff too, and now I realise how dumb that was. Same thing with minors coming here, they want to discover and forget the whole legal issue and the big trouble with the law (at least: in the US) when they say to themselves: "blabla, 18 my ass" clicking the link on sites like this one saying "yes, I am of legal age in my country"
But the thing dvnc stated is in my opinion a bit overrated, a good parent understands what it is to be 15 and knows that the brains will develop a bit later.
Considering this whole thing, I totally agree with MaxSpeer. The kiddos are curious, and if you do not satisfy their curiousity in a controlled manner they will find out what they want to know in a way that is beyond normal reason. Things can work out well, but then again, as I already stated, they can get themselves killed.

But well, seeing the fact lawmakers do not seem to remember what it's like to be a minor laws are not suited for such solutions. Shit happens but periodic suspension is the only option. Sad but true.
