I decided after a series of interesting events with a friend of mine known as Kanada, of the group Nuclear Bombsquad, to start recording some stuff and posting it on youtube. This is my first solo, ( i previously was in the song " Oh Shit " with Kanada and D.Z. Ray, aka Nuclear Bombsquad ) My name is The Fat Man, the song is called Shut the Fuck up, and here is the link. Comment, like, spread the word, put me out there please please please, and thank you, thank you, thank you!

Useful entertainment!! (Just what you'd LOVE to say....)

Of COURSE I'm actually having some trouble viewing YouTube via links
so I (will have to search through an embedded YouTube vid 😛 )

...Since that sounds like the PERFECT song to have at the ready when you're stuck in a train or on a line in a store
and some idiot insists upon loudly outlining his tedious life story into his cell phone!!! 😀

(Whether or not anyone's actually on the other end...)

So I look forward to this on multiple levels :dogpile:

unfortunately its not what u think.....this is a personal song for me....its about my father being an abusive asshole all through my life.

HOWEVER, there are more to come, and since uv pointed out such a wonderfully authentic topic for a song of this nature, ill definitely make one similar in name, with the theme you have suggested. thank u for some perfect inspiration.

BUMP!!!!!!! come on y'all, check it out please!!!!!!!!!!!! :spider:

You started this thread last night and it has been viewed 73 times. That's a respectable number. And most people who watch it are not going to comment one way or another. This is true for most threads here. While not to my taste in music if it works for you go for it, and don't worry about what others think.

im not looking for comments, im looking for views. the point of my bump was to make it more noticed so more views would be there. and besides, while this thread may have gotten that many views, the actual video has not. last i checked it was 27, at least 5 of which are from me, going back to check the view number.

Look at what you are up against on a site like YouTube. I'm not trying to discourage you, but look at the numbers. The number of videos posted there daily is incredible, and many if not most of them go nowhere.

my point entirely. which is why i bump it here, so it can get as much exposure as possible. when i post another song, either tomorrow morning, or the next morning, itll get even more than that. by the end of the week i should have 3-5 songs posted. still not that many, but the more exposure each of them gets, the better a chance i have of getting noticed.

Go for it. I wish you well, and I mean that. 🙂

If you expect to get anywhere on YouTube and you hope the majority of hits will come from here, your channel will fail.

ok, seriously buddy, if u dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all. this is blatently obvious......you dont need to tell me stuff i already know, so please dont insult my intelligence and post statements like this.

Promoting your YouTube video isn't something nice to say, but nobody is telling you that you shouldn't have done that.

Don't make it appear that you didn't know what I said holds true, and then I wouldn't have to say it. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. :swayparrot:

seriously, why do you insist on negative comments like this?

It wasn't negative. It was douchy. Kind of like asking people for cash, then trying to promote a YouTube video a few weeks later.

I really don't think that he was intending to be rude. You said yourself that you were bumping the thread to increase views on your new video. He was just trying to point out that it isn't realistic to expect to get many hits from here. You don't need to jump down the throat of anyone who says something you don't like. Simmer down.

For as much shit as we've had in the past, I appreciate your post. :xpulcy:

Back on TOPIC...

You're welcome, thanks for the info 🙂

Ignore the surprisingly disappointing negative butt-ins who should've had the decency to PM you, or just ignore it, and carry on. :chill:

Supposedly the best artists have Angst :pie:

"Angst" usually has a bit more depth to it...

I think there's a not-so-subtle difference between Angst and unnecessary petty irritants.
Although maybe you're partially right, the inconsiderate noise can be inspiring, though it's probably more productive when it's not malicious....

So I guess my first impression did apply here after all, unfortunately :ermm:

I'm just tired of the drive-by haters.

I didn't actually listen or anything... But have you tried e-mailing the video link out to all of your friends? A lot of the videos that suddenly become massively popular on YouTube do so via the "viral" phenomena. E-mail is very quick and easy to send to others, and when people get something that they find cool/amusing/etc., they tend to pass it on to all of their friends. Then those friends pass it to their friends, and so on and so forth. On a forum, you're limited to the small percentage of the total membership that's going to peek into your thread. Via e-mail, your potential audience grows exponentially each time someone likes your song enough to pass it along to their friends.

Just sayin'.

Not just effort, a matter of patience

Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame had his chicken recipe rejected 1,009 times before a restaurant accepted it.

Zane Grey became a dentist and hated it. He wrote several novels. They failed. He wrote a western novel, The Last of the Plainsmen. It too was rejected. He was told he had no future as a writer and to give it up. He persisted and was 40 before his first book sold. He had 65 books published while he was alive—24 after he died. His books sold more than 50 million copies. Forty-nine of his novels were made into movies. One million of his books still sell every year.2

Decca Recording Company turned down the Beatles in 1962. They said, "We don't like their sound. Groups of guitarists are on the way out." (Yeah right!)

Van Gogh sold only one painting in his entire lifetime and that one was of his own brother.

Richard Hooker spent 17 years writing a humorous war story which was rejected by 21 publishers before William Morrow bought it. The title of the book? MASH! (And we all know the rest of that story.)3

Wilbur and Orville Wright's father believed that his sons' desire to fly was heresy.

Walt Disney went broke seven times and had a nervous breakdown before becoming successful.

And Thomas Edison failed more than 6,000 times before making an electric light bulb that worked.

The source was a religious article, but I kept it secular:

I am not fond of rap, but I'll be objective... you got a nice voice, except... I could sense some sadness buried within. Try to be emotionless when singing. (As if! Who the hell am I?).

thanks....yeah, in general im a sad person, lol. especially with a song like that, as personal as it is, and the particular subject.....nobody wants to be able to talk about their father like that. unfortunately im able to, and frankly it sucks. but i make the most of it. i dream of the day when his evil is no longer in this world, and i can lay claim to the tons of things my mother once owned, that iv been kept from by his greed.
