I love the Devils and they both love the Red Wings. And I know MANY Ranger and Islander fans. So don't say Americans( which is suppose to be capitalized ) don't care. Sergei Fedorov was traded by Anaheim to Columbus. Now he's on a team that's in the same division as his former team, the Red Wings.

I guess Bettman will get his wish for a Detroit/columbus rivalry.

im just posting my opinion...and the opinion of millions and millions of others...i dont give a damn if i dont watch hockey...i still have an opinion on it...to whoever said some shit about living with a couple of hockey fans this is to you...when i sayed that it was a joke...i read something on espn and the writer said that all the hockey fans were glad it was back, all 17 of them...of course there are hockey fans but look at your sport...of the four major its the least popular...i dont know any black people who like hockey(and if someone out there is black and reads this dont tell me you watch the sport and u know people)...i really dont care...there are black hockey fans but not too many...when u have sports commentators, analyst, reporters making fun of it then you know something is wrong...it was gone for a whole year and no one gave a damn...was the best year of my life

All of us know that hockey is the least popular among the major four in the USA, but so what? This league has thrived for years and it will always be in the blood north of the border. Like ticklingfeet4u said, there are countless hockey fans in the United States and many of those teams thrive. Its not a coincidence that hockey takes the back seat in the south and across much of the west. But in cities like NY, NJ, Philly and Detroit, the game has always thrived. And its great to see it thrive in major hockey towns like Columbus and Minnesota, too.

The game will never make the top headline's on espn, but then again it never has. And from where I sit, that's alright by me. So long as I can pop a cold beer and watch Hockey Night in Canada with Don Cherry sounding off, I'll be a happy man.

Long story short, stick to your own damn sports threads if you don't like it, lol! 🙄 😀 Go Leafs Go!

I couldn't have said it better. Playing the race card? 🙄 Being Canadian, I'm biased, but there are legions of hockey fans in this country of just about any race you can name. And if you care to notice, there are more and more cultures playing the game now also, which is terrific.

I heard about this trade right after the Leafs dumped the Rangers 2-1. I was watching it out of Canada, in fact. Sadira and I have the hockey package so we see all kinds of games. Sergei Fedorov will be in uniform tomorrow night when Columbus battle the St. Louis Blues. I heard he is taking the redeye out of Anaheim tonight.

Do you realize that this is the worst start for the Devils since the 1990/1991 season? We have gone to the playoff 15 times in the last 16 seasons. We have been to 3 conference finals and 4 Stanley Cup finals. We have won 3 of the 4 Stanley Cups we have played.

Columbus got Sergei Fedorov and a 5th round pick in 2006 for forward Tyler Wright and rookie defenseman Francois Beauchemin.

The new rules have been a huge adjustment for teams like NJ and Toronto, but I do believe our teams will soon make an impact in the conference. As impressive as NY and Montreal have been, those teams will take their rightful place in the middle of the pack or lower before long....

those 5 fans equal the hockey fans throughout the US...when i mentioned black people i wasnt trying to play the race card...im saying that hockey and nascar both want to get more minorities to their sport...and i knew u would try and throw in your black friends that like hockey to prove me wrong...if i generalizing blacks and hockey with what i said then u r doing the same damn thing...the only people who care about hockey r u 13 hockey fans...i dont watch baseball like i watch football but i'll tune in to a game here and there and keep up with news...people dont do that with hockey unless u r a true fan of that sport...the fuckin league changed its rules to attract more people...and u wonder y people could care less about this sorry sport...no one cares about the hockey championship...same structure as the nba and mlb but it doesnt attract the same excitement....except from hockey fans
