The fleshy part of potato is used in making chips, in fact drying is needed and some sorts of spices to add flavor!

I was trying to be a bit sarcastic. usually people wonder what part(s) of the animal are in a hot dog. That is why I asked what parts of the potato
are used for hot dog flavored chips. 🙂

I would say that it is the cooking process. If you cooked the potato chips in grease that had hot dog flavoring, that should work. I will not go out of my way to try them.
