If you were around then, where did you go to meet people for tickle play, conversing about tickling, or find "tickle porn" before the internet became a thing?
I dated.
I would do it to friends and girlfriends knowing it "got me going", but not realizing that it was a "proper fetish" or that hundreds of thousands of other people also did it.
Same here; no substitute for personal interaction .
I'd have to agree - the personal route was the only way back then. You got lucky, or you didn't (I won't say which one I mostly got).
I do remember seeing a few letters in Penthouse in the late 70's to early 90's, then the tickling magazines in the early 90's (maybe even before?). And, I guess there were some videos/films available. But, not the "real thing".
'Well, play-tickling is a common activity among couples and women often learn it's a turn-on even when you don't tell them explicitly. It's a matter of luck how receptive she's of it all, but it's something you tend to learn early in the relation. Impossible for me to date a woman without coming to tickling her at an early stage."
Well stated. Had a gf years ago and we would play around with tickling as a form of rough housing. She seemed to pick up on my kink because one night she mentioned that since I seem to like tickling her so much I should tie her up and REALLY tickle her. Obviously, I jumped on the opportunity and it was an incredible time. Her feet were SO ticklish to begin with and the bondage only made things more intense. At one point when she was completely hysterical I gave her a breather and asked if she wanted me to stop. She said "No. Keep going if you want. This is actually kinda fun."She ended up really enjoying it and even requested other tickle sessions. On the other end of the spectrum are girls who absolutely HATE being tickled. One girl even told me she thought tickling was gross. We didn't stay together long. My current partner of 7+ years learned of my kinks very early on and indulges me. Yes, I'm fully aware of how lucky I am. But anyway, to summarize, I've met many more females who enjoyed tickling (although not necessarily as much as I do) than I have met who hate it.
I dated.
Before internet there was porn shops and magazines, before that I don't know, maybe cave drawings?

Way before the internet, back in 1973, I can recall spending a futile two hours in a porn shop searching for anything related to tickling.
Much like others have said, I was tickling my friends...I didn't really know it was a fetish then, only that I really, really wanted to tickle them. I thought I was the only one that felt this way. Thank god for the internet, I may never have realized this was a legit part of my sexuality if it hadn't been for sites like this.
