The idea has some merit. The problem with stickies is that they take up too much room on the front page. Plus, think about it. If you're tired of these topics popping up from time to time, imagine how annoying it will be to seem them at the top of the list day in and day out.

Yes, there have been a lot of re-runs here as of late. I just ignore them. There's always going to be new people coming on here. Why the recent flash flood of re-runs, I dunno.

I have already addressed all these issues in my "I Love Lucy" thread. Sheeeesh!! I agree that new posters will revisit the "top 10" thread topics along and along. Maybe someone(myself included) should first do a search to see what has already been posted on a topic before starting a "new" thread. Maybe some new insight into these gems will be given. If not they will probably fall to the back pages soon enough.

Not a terrible idea, but I could probably name at least 20 topics that come all the time. It would be a bit much to sticky all of them.

Only so many things can be stuck before you get clutter. We try to keep things to four or five tops.
Also, while these questions come around often, almost every person who asks feels they have some unique circumstances to share that may apply, and no 'one size fits all' thread will address such things well. It's best to deal with them as they arrive.
Lastly, such threads are often how people first find the strength to make a first post. And doing it as an independent voice starting a thread is much more significant then being #423 in a stuck thread.
Often such post are not about getting answers, as the poster already knows the answer, but to vent frustration, or confusion to an audience they feel safe with.
