Ok what laws of physics could of made that happen if you could explain it to me how it could've happen then I can drop it but why is it so hard to believe that there is an after life.

I don't know which laws, but random stuff can and does happen (like the universe itself) subatomic particles pop in and out of existence, to know the exact location of an electron etc means it is impossible to know it's exact speed.

Typically, the larger things are, the less random they are... or rather more time is required for the really weird stuff to happen.

Wait long enough, and a large bowl of rice crispies will pop into existence. It's that sort of thing I was suggesting as a possibility... in this case, a localised shift in the direction of gravity and how if works.

Or perhaps Dark flow is increasing, and it got caught in it? Who knows, but I like weird stuff like this.

I tend to look at things this way. One off incident, jolt in spacetime of some unknown type. if it happens more than once? Then it could quite easily be a spook or other form of life we simply can't see.

Darwin's death bed conversion was a lie started by Christians, it never happened but you can see what they were trying to do. Evolution IS a fact, it's in the fossil record, look it up. Even most Christians accept it, now of course they're saying that evolution was HOW God created us, only the most ill informed Christians still disbelieve it.
As for "air", well Joseph Priestley discovered oxygen in Birmingham England in 1774 and had his lab smashed up by Christians who considered it blasphemy, nuff said.

So to get back to the gist of the original post Shane said that a friend had a knife thrown his direction and thrown hard enough to bury itself into folded cardboard. (I am assuming it was cardboard) Security camera shows no evidence of any other person near when the knife travelled by itself. From Shane's location on his post header it says he is from Chicago so another assumption might be made that this business is in an older part of town or a building with quite a few years since it was built. A definition of a ghost could be someone who died quickly and doesn't realize they are dead or a person who died with things extremely important to them left unfinished.

So my questions to Shane would be how old is the building, what is the history of the area near the building, did you friend suddenly become tired or felt cold, who may have passed away or been killed in or near the building, and most importantly has this type of behavior with inanimate objects moving by themselves happened before and been documented? Have there been accounts of people hearing whisperings or louded noises when there logically should not be any?

Yeah, ghost hunting has a lot of questions to go through before you see the recorders and electronics come out.

I strongly disapprove of organized religions and I think it's tragic that people look at mundane coincidences and consider them to be evidence of God.

Should you actually do this in most places you are actually going to pick up background noises from other people. If you wanted to really try this you need a totally sound proof area. But with most sensitive recording equipment what you think may be voices is really just noises from outside the house or in my case my from neighbors in other apartments. To actually try this you would need an insanely controlled environment. The more sensitive the device the higher the chance is that you really aren't picking up something "other worldly" but just basic run of the mill noises that happen every day.

I never found out about the woman or how long the panties had been there; once I gave a statement, the investiagtion continued on without further comment, though I thought she was probably still alive.

I don't talk about that day much. I don't know that I believe in ghosts, per se, but I never forgot that maybe there's more to this world than we know about.

Jumping to the conclusion that some paranormal ghost tossed a knife at your buddy because it was lodged in a card board box is a bit much. There is no proof. For all we know the knife was left on top a shelf from the previous shift and slid into the box while your unsuspecting buddy was working.
