if you could have any car you wanted....

1) The Turbo Terrific, formerly driven by Peter Perfect.

2) The General Lee

3) The Batmobile (Keaton version)

Man, I watch too much tv.

The Sean man

I can chime in here...

Car I always drool over is the Lamborgini Diablo!!!
I love that car!
I used to love the Lamborgini Countach but when the Diablo came out I really fell in love with that car! *Drool*

I have always loved the look of the Porche 911's.

As far as a car I would want back from my past is my father's Plymouth Duster...I would love to redo that car today.

I must say the only Ford I really have every liked is the Ford Mustangs in the golden "60's" period...However I must say I liked this years "show-car" verison with the new body but "64 front end"
Really looks like a Mustang again...

i always ask myself this question when i daydream about winning the lottery. i would have 5 cars.

1. Lamborghini Murcielago (or Diablo)- black! man i LOVE this car!
2. Hummer (H1 version) black
3. BMW -dont know which model yet, but it will be black
4. Mitsubishi Eclipse- i would keep my car that i have now (black).
5. i dont know yet, but i might have a different color than the others.

And replaced by Ferrari as the finest suppliers of cars to the Yuppie class (albeit the 00's version of yuppies, but the principle holds). 😀

My father had a Duster also. Nice car. It was my first car I ever had. The only complaint I had about the car though was, assuming that your dad had the 225 6 cyl, the car would always stall and it would take me like three times before I got the car going. Mine was a 1972 and I remember my friend, who was a mechanic, tell me that they had a bum carbuerator so I had to live with it. Boy, if I had $$ at the time, I could have done wonders with that car.

I deleted your portion about the Porche 911 but I can tell you from experience that it's a rocket on four wheels. My cousin had a 911 and I swear, I drove that car once, and I was at 60 at the blink of an eye.

I echo your sentiment about the Mustangs. They are what put Ford on the map. Someday.

Gee, let me see, from my youth, I'd have to say the 60's Batmobile, the red Ferrari from Magnum, P. I., the black Trans-Am from Knight Rider (sentient computer optional), and a '73 white Corvette from a short lived Bill Bixby magician/detective show. Nowadays, I'd say anything that's not too big, but roomy enough for my 6' 3" frame. As well as letting a gal stretch her legs out and tease me with shoeless feet. 😀

I've had this conversation with many friends over the years. With all the talk of Porches and Ferraris and such, my dream car has always remained the same (and at least somewhat obtainable if I can find the right deal)...

A 1957 Chevy Bel-Air. Black with all that chrome on the fins and the grill. The only thing I'd change would be the stereo, gotta have more than AM radio, eh? Everything else original. It's been my one and only dream car since I was 10.

Na, not even the GT40...others can be had in place of the GT40...
The Mustang is unique and again is the only Ford I have liked...besides the aweful puke in the 80's:sowrong:

My father had the 1974 Duster and I am pretty sure they still exibited the same problems in '74 as in '72 as I remember my father cursing the car for taking 3 cranks to get going...oh well....

You mentioned the Porsche 911, Tom...
Trust me, the car has performance to match its looks. I drove around a friend's old 1971 version, and woooooooooow!

The thing is, the turns in that car are very tricky. I didn't know that at the time. Scared the living bejesus out of me! When I got out of the car, I was pale as a ghost. My friend came up to me and said, "hairpin turns, huh?"
:wow:

Mine would have to be a '68 Mustang fastback, from which I would produce a replica of the car that Steve McQueen drove in the movie Bullitt. Complete with suitable upgrades to the engine, suspension, and brakes, and otherwise stone stock inside and out.

Remember that scene in Risky Business?

Where the guys are in the Porsche (I think they were running from Guido the killer pimp) and they finally come to a stop--Tom Cruise smiles with satisfaction and says, "Porsche--there is no substitute" and the terrified friend in the back seat leans forward and goes, "Fuck you." I laughed my head off...

XOXO

What she said! Hey, pop quiz, Gang... anybody actually KNOW what a *Camaro* is? What the word means, that is?

I can tell you for sure...

it's not Spanish for anything. My guess is Chevy made it up...

XOXO

No, it's a real word.

I don't know if it's spanish or another language, but I know it means something, and in the context I heard it used in, I think it's like "champion" or something along those lines. I've wondered for years since I heard it used that way what the actual definition is, but good luck finding anything other than cars if you look!

Hmm...

Interesting. It is DEFINITELY not Spanish or Italian but Portugese has enough differences that I can't converse with them. Maybe it's that. (Any Brazilians out there?)

XOXO

Here's a funny story..

When Chevy first sold the Chevy "NOVA" in Mexico it didn't sell at all!
Because in Spanish NOVA sounds out like No VA which is NO GO in English...no wonder it didn't sell🙄

:::slapping palm against forehead in agony:::

ARGH!!! What was I thinking?!?!? "Any Car I WANTED?"

James Bond's Aston Martin! F***ing DUH!

If anybody wants to see some new concept cars check this out

http://www.autoshowny.com/

There are some really neat cars. One car (truck) I like is the Ford Bronco. Another is the Shelby. For all the stang lovers, the new GTR is to die for. Looks like the 1972 Mach II.

Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible...

Ok...I really didn't like the Original PT Cruiser...it was ok.

However, I may have to break down and buy the Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible!!!

I really like the look of the convertible!!!
And for $21,000 start it's not out of reach!

OH yeah and going back a few posts...I once test drove a Porsche Boxter(the US Convertible, see a trend) and that thing was FAST!!!
But not as fast as the 911 Turbo from what I hear!
Taking turns in the Boxter was "interesting" to say the least!!!
And that was in a manual transmission, I can't imagine the 6 speed!
