I'm going to college!

Thanks everyone, I can't respond to all of your awesome comments separately, but it means lots, even from the smartasses. :twohugs:

I'll make sure to have fun, whatever that entails, and get everything out of it that I can.

Good Girl. Thats the soirit.

I hope it's a cooking school so I can finally get my damn pancakes! :sarcasm:

Congratz, hon. Learn lots and have fun.

while my closest friends are from high school, i just thought life in college was way, way better than high school. i even like working life better than college. it just gets better from graduating HS. congrats

I'm going to college!
That’s awesome! So is my youngest daughter, look how much we have in common! :ermm:

Seriously though, I remember it as if it were yesterday even though the internet (or the PC for that matter) wasn’t invented yet to help document the journey. :rotate:

But it should be one of the most exciting times of your life, just be sure to take advantage of every opportunity you can to maximize on the experience. :smilestar

That's awesome, Layna! :woot2: I hope you have a fun time and get some amazing experiences in. 😀 I'm in college as well, but at the moment I'm not getting the full experience of being on my own since I commute. So it looks like both of us are n00bs in that regard. ^^;; I do know I like it loads better than high school and middle school...that was pure torture! :banghead: It's great because there are no awful cliques. People really don't travel in packs like they do in the hallways of public schools. lol Plus, you're bound to make lots of new friends since you all share that common ground of being away from home.

Good luck and Godspeed! :redheart:

so begins the most awesome part of your life 🙂

so which college/university are you going to anyway?

the first three weeks will be a period of adjustment where you go from having a very 'set in stone' schedule with classes you MUST be in at a certain time otherwise campus security cracks down on you, to absolute freedom where how much effort you put in yourself determines how well you do.

Not sure what excess was talking about, i remember 4 years ago in my freshmen year, there weren't any stuck up people besides the other freshmen, but after a semester i noticed the majority of people are kind intellectuals who are willing to help you find a building or answer a question with no drama at all.

Since the first two years are the years where you'll just be taking classes that are equivalent to AP classes in high school, i recommend just enjoying yourself and do your best but don't stress out, after your first two years you'll look back at 100 level classes and wish you had some more to take again.

She is almost finished her semester and doesn't check it while in school. Just fyi since this is almost 3 months old. 🙂

Congratulations! It only gets better after escaping high school in my opinion. Have a blast and remember to clear your history if your roomate will be using your laptop 😉
