Knismolagniac symbol???

I am quietly stalking this thread....this is an epic one, too. After a decision is reached, I am going to have shirts made for NEST with the symbol.

Thats fantastic please do give your input here the more ideas we have the better it will be.

Well, so far, I like the neuron thing, but here is what I am afraid of - we start tattooing ourselves with this symbol, wearing it on our clothing, and getting pendants made....and people are going to start wondering what out cult is about.

To spark that kind of curiosity there would have to be millions of people using the symbol to make it that noticeable. If our figures are correct at what now about 85000 members lets just for argument sake say there are another 100000 people into this fetish that makes 185000 scattered all over the world. I don't think your gonna see that symbol often enough to spark curiosity. Just my thought on this

your afraid of that?

I dont think there are nearly enuf of us for anyone to really notice, however...if they did... I actually quite like the idea of being part of the mystery that would cause 😀

I like that..tweaked it a little...

yeh thats pretty cool, my critisim is this, everyone knows im against feathers being a part of this anyway, but besides that, this symbol is likely to come in all shapes and sizes, sometimes very small, including that feather in the middle is just too fiddly in my opinion, I think it needs to remain very basic but still keeping the effect.

Well, you know how people tend to think negatively about that which they do not understand. That's all I'm worried about.

As far as being part of a mystery - I wouldn't keep it a mystery. If a hot girl in a bar asked me what that symbol means, I'd tell her - "It means I like to make beautiful women like you squirm and giggle, that's what."

ahhh I think wed be ok, theres more people out there into bondage and that symbol is way more spread than ours would be, and no one goes on about THAT being a cult...unless im mistaken.

That's a great answer. I like your style

well if it got adopted this would be a great t shirt at nest as no one would know what nest means

Noone is. Hardly anyone outside the BDSM community know what it means.

I still have that simple neuron tree as a favorite. Don't like the new one with the feather inside of it. But thats maby just me... But this thread became awesome. Alot of creative people on this forum 🙂

Coupla' triskele variations requested by Libertine, making the feathers softer and less stone-carved... I'll do KittenToes' idea as I can -- it's actually deceptively difficult to do right, with the triskele segments competing for space with the feathers...

I've got a few other non-triskele ideas up my sleeve, and I want to go back and polish up some of my other rough entries for competition while we're still brainstorming and accepting contributions...

Further, I like the incorporation of the feather (or anything) to the neuron design... Reason's this: While it's a very strong stand-alone piece, it's not so much obscure (as is the BDSM triskele) as it is contraindicating -- again, it makes me think brain science or Mensa. If you want to go obscure, let's go obscure... Add something to it that doesn't make it a simple neuron... Have the dendrites end in hands, have the nucleus replaced with an iconic eye, wrap a snake around it -- heck, I don't know, but just one little tweak or modification can get it at least to jump the hurdle of contraindication into the truly obscure, which I think is more of what that faction of folks seems to want if I follow their logic correctly...

Keep working, folks! Very cool thread! I look forward to more entries and maybe even some collaboration! 🙂 And Heather Feather -- thanks for your insightful contribution and welcome to the Forum! :happyfloa

as nice as the new one is, im inclined to agree, its kinda unnessasary to have the cup and circle thing, the tree already symbolises growth as its a tree... why have it in a cup? makes it more of a potted plant than a tree 😀

I jest, It really is a ncie design🙂

ok here is a bit of a different shape and hari pretend the feather is not there lol

Hari, you're speaking my mind for me in this thread 😛 I agree with everything you're saying.

I prefer that the symbol stay rather simple, but I like Capnmad's idea of adding a little something to the neuron/tree design to make it a little more obscure/interesting. The eye doesn't look bad - could you explain its potential significance? The hand one freaks me out LOL

Oh - great first post Heather!! 🙂 :dancingbanana:

Lol! Actually, the point was rather that there wasn't to add any more significance to it, but just to obscure the present meaning... Remember, the point behind the obscure symbol isn't that it draws on any existing association, but that it means what we say it means because we say so, so the Obsceuron with an eye means tickling fetishism.

Because I say so. 😛

Or I can say we see a basic smile shape in the highlight under the eye, and the eye is wide, typically associated with excitement.

If it's a likeable enough graphic, it'll be adopted. If not, I've got plenty of other stuff I must draw... 🙂

Hmm...I'd rather that we can actually draw meaning from the symbol rather than just say "this means tickling cause we say it does." But that's just me - maybe I'm looking too much into it 😛

I'm thinking some sort of a subtle symbol to represent touch. Not sure what, though. A flat-palmed hand, perhaps? That may look too much like "Halt!" or "Stop!" though. Maybe put a "K" in the center of a hand? I have no frickin' idea!

Whatever the case, I think it should convey touch, or sensation.
