For a stronger male subject being bound by a beginner in bondage the rule is that simpler is better.
First up, what do you tie them with?
Try this:
http://www.amazon.com/Yards-Black-N...1384629168&sr=8-1&keywords=strapping+material
This sort of material is massively strong, will not be tearable by the strongest subject, and offers a lot of flexibility in ties.
If you are at the basic level, you only need two ties. An 'X' tie at the wrists, and a second at the ankles. They are simple to do. Have your partner cross the limbs to be tied then wrap the strapping material around one wrist/ankle layering it over a half foot of limb, repeat with the other end of the material on the other limb. then use the rest to wrap both at once, then tie around the center.
Once you have the ankles and wrists tied your partners ability to resist your attentions is much more limited. and if you sit on them, even more so (face down for them allows even more control) you can also find a strong point to tie the wrist to (or have them put the arms around it before tying) to limit motion even more.
Keeping it simple at first is a good path, as you'll learn how to make basic bondages comfortable, see what your partner can take, and limit bondage marks. It will also teach you what more needs to be done if you find you have a specific sort of restriction you find you want/like. Then you can fine tune towards that.
Have fun, and enjoy.
