For too long, all those younger fast-food products have been desperately trying to convey the same appeal as their photogenic counterparts. -- Here we discover that airbrushing is the secret in hopes that this will ease the feelings of those who try to emulate their famous sandwich celebrity.

I just LOVE the thumb prints mashed into the sandwiches on the right, as they were handled roughly by the employees making them in an effort to get them out expediently.

Oh, and curse you for showing pictures of a BK croissan'wich and a McDonald's Egg McMuffin! Now I'm craving breakfast from BOTH places, and it's 12:23! :shakes fist menacingly/futilely: 😛

Also, as a side note, I LOVE BK croissan'wiches BECAUSE they're soggy. I had one from Dunkin' Donuts, once, and I HATED how flaky and dry the croissant roll portion was!

Yeah I know exactly what you are saying. This is a huge pet peeve of mine too. I hate when the fast food you get or the scrumptious dinner you think you are going to receive arrives in a nice sit restaurant. Sadly it doesn't look anything close like the pic on the menu. It is very disappointing and very aggravating to say the least. I mean I know we are going to eat it don't have to look perfect, but don't know about you-I like nice visual presentation of food not sloppily placed before whether that be fast food or a nice sit down restaurant. So yeah to me that definitely seems like "false advertising" LOL seriously though this is a gripe of mine, drives me crazy. 🙁🙁🙁:

I always feel bad for the food that's being held up to an unreasonable standard by the media. Burgers with eating disorders are at an alltime high, french fries are crowding into tanning salons in order to get that "golden brown" look, and I just heard on the news in my town that an Egg Mcmuffin attempted suicide because all the other breafast menu items were making fun of how it looked.

When will people learn its what on the inside that counts? 🙁

Then again, the contents of fastfood are fucking horrible.

One time, over a decade ago now, some friends and I hit up a Wendy's drive-thru and after we had to wait a loooooooooong time for my friend Garys burger, he unwrapped it to find it had clearly been sat on...we could see the actual butt crease in it! I assure you that it looked NOTHING like the picture on the menu!

Those advertising pictures are airbrushed and don't even use real food anyway! They paint hot dogs, cereal uses glue in place of milk, all sorts of crazy stuff.

The interesting thing, to me, is that the food shown in fast food advertisements would be completely inedible due to being covered in paint, glue, and the like, to make them look pretty.
