Movie about tickling fetish

Given Hollywood's current propensity to explore lifestyles that the average person considers "weird," I wonder how a very good --- I'm talking downright brilliantly written --- script for a movie about the tickling fetish would go over. I mean, there are multiple shows about Mormons and polygamy, shows about hoarders, movies about Trekkies and Star Wars fans, and even a movie about dodgeball. If "Dodgeball" can become a major motion picture starring Vince Vaughn, then surely a movie about tickling could at least get Owen Wilson.

Haven't really thought through the plotline yet, but I'm thinking it would revolve around several characters who each think they're the only tickling fetishist in the world, and through a variety of random events, they all meet. I'm definitely thinking that this would do better as an indie film, and should probably fall under the comedy genre. One of the characters could be a veteran tickler who's a bit of a windbag and goes on and on about the "Five T's of Tickling: Tickle, Tease, Touch, Tantalize, and, uhhhh, Tickle!"

The upside would be that the average person would become aware that we exist, meaning that all the pent up 'lers on here might actually find the courage to talk to a girl about tickling (or just the courage to talk to a girl).

I think it would be great- I could see it more as horror movie. Then people would truly understand the sadistic aspect to tickling (if they haven't already). A Serial Tickler... forcing men and women to be tickled against their will... to either get something or for the sheer evil of it. It would be great!!!

I don't know about tickling, but I think a movie about foot fetishism might do well. It's already a well known fetish, but it tends to have a pretty bad rep, and the right film could do wonders for our PR.

Hmm.. a movie about tickling would be good... I think it would be better to fall under "Dark Comedy" which mixes what two people said, the OP and someone else. OP said comedy. Someone else said horror. A Dark Comedy is a comedy that's kind of on the darker side. So it's still a comedy and wouldn't like show tickling as a scary thing but it would show that it could be on the darker side so it could show the sadistic side of tickling but still maybe not showing tickling as something scaring. Putting it as a horror I think would make people thin that ticklers go hunt victims and torture them in some scary way and that's not good.

From IMDB that movie looks awful. People didn't even express distaste with the fetish content, but with the acting and dialogue. Thanks for pointing it out and I'm going to give it a shot, but I doubt it's the kind of film I was hoping for.

Yeah, I don't remember it being any good...but then, that was before I had any interest in feet.

I'm wondering if the answer isn't to include a number of different fetishes. There's no need to have this be a 'what if' thread. There are lots of examples of people with a camera or two, next to no budget and a killer script or idea that gets tens or even hundreds of thousands of viewers.

Look up 'Suburban Knights' on Youtube or thatguywiththeglasses.com for a prime example.

If you have a good idea, write up an outline, hook up with a couple of people here to write a script and set aside time to do some filming. 🙂

But 5 or 10 minute short films can get lots of views, too. If you want a somewhat amusing and charming 10 minute movie about foot fetishism, look up "Babbette's Feet."

I don't know if it would be profitable, but it's certainly doable.

I really don't want to see a movie about tickling. Whenever a fetish makes it into a movie, it does as being downright creepy. I am sure I do not want to see my own fetish portrayed this way!

Even in shows like Nip/Tuck, which are all about sex, the fetishists are the creepy people!

Plus, I couldn't think of a plotline about tickling that would make a whole movie interesting enough to watch!

I don't want to see a movie about the tickling fetish. It would be way too embarassing to me for those who already suspect I like it. To have to talk about it would be too much for me. No, some playful tickling in a mainstream movie would be fine with me. The only exception would be if it was a movie about fetishes in general and tickling was one of them. I would love to see a movie with a hot girl being tickle tortured although not in the trailer, just a scene in the movie.

Anything on the fringe that becomes trendy or celebrated in pop culture eventually becomes warped and meaningless.

I find it more amusing to watch mainstream media try and represent us, like the famous (infamous) "Ally McBeal" episode featuring a foot-fetishist on trial for breaking-and-entering and assault on a woman's feet. They found a creepy looking creepfest of an actor, with dark eyes, a weaselly look. It was almost a cartoon.

I also cringe just thinking about a feature film centered around the tickling fetish. I wouldn't go see it in public, and I am almost positive I would get phone calls and letters from all the people who I tortured as a kid. I remember the episode of 'CSI/Vegas' that spotlighted the furries. At one point, they're exhibiting a furries gathering, and I just burst out laughing. The Miz told me I was a Philistine, and don't you belong to something like this, how could you laugh? I said nothing. Within a minute, though, The Miz burst out in laughter.
