My dog has passed away...

I blogged in more detail about it, but I just wanted to share that my 10-year-old dog Lady passed away today. It's surreal and I'm very sad. It's hard to believe she's gone. 🙁

Oh my - I know how you feel, it's such a heartbreaking experience. Five years ago I lost Charlie, my dear buddy cat. I was so saddened by his death, so I can imagine pretty well how you feel right now.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your kind words. It's still strange because I keep looking at the front door or the back door (her favorite spots to lay) and expecting to see her lying there.

I'm really sorry, nemmy. Losing any pert, regardless of what it is, is tough. I remember when I lost my pet cat, Casper, and it still huirts, and that was more than four years ago. I'm reminded of the 'Rainbow Bridge' poem. Always helps me.

Oh, hon. I can relate to exactly how you feel. You know where to find me should you need to chat and know that my thoughts are with you, regardless.

A small consolation, perhaps... but I remember when Penny died, I kept trying to think about how she is free of sickness now and as playful and energetic as she was as a kitten. It can help to think about that and remember that you will see her again someday, and in the meantime, that she is happy and being taken good care of.
