Need your advise.

Was this person a friend of yours? Because I think that's a little rude of them. To me a hug says, "I lke you." I'd have probably said something smartassy like, "Well I think you're kind of ugly but I didn't feel the need to mention it to you, up until now."

But seriously, you see my point, yes? I don't think honesty is always the best policy, especially if it hurts someone else's feelings. I just don't understand some people. I mean, do you think this person, if they had a bad day, goes around telling people, "Look, I don't want you smiling at me anymore"?

I'm Italian and while I don't necessarily feel the need to hug everyone, if I like you, I just sort of instinctively touch you. Worse trouble it's ever gotten me in is that some guys mistake it for me wanting more from them.

I personally think the world would be a better place with more hugs, it's obviously a big part of who you are by nature. Don't let one person, especially someone like that, make you want to change YOU! It's a lovely quality to have.

My question is- should I stop giving hugs?

Had someone come to me recently and tell me my hugs make them uncomfortable. I am known or nick named hug/cuddle slut in my local bdsm group and have mixed feelings that if I stop ppl will wonder whats up and then again I see hugs as an extension of my heart. But, do I want to be so open and vulnearable to let one person make me wanna put the walls back up and be cold. It is something I have been thinking about alot lately even before this person came to me. Delema Delema.

What do yall think I should do for many of you know me in person. Do I continue to be myself or harden myself up.. I am an all or nothing girl.

Do what makes you feel good. I am a hugger also and I will not let someone turn me off to what I do. More people need to hug It is a good feeling. You rock Girl.

If someone repeatedly initiates physical contact with you and it makes you uncomfortable, then you have every right to ask them to stop. Taking offense to that is just immature.

Make a no-hug concession to that one person's personal space - otherwise, be yourself.

The fact that she pluralized "hugs" in the original post made me think that it was a recurring event that the person in question was tired of. Everyone has varying levels of what constitutes their personal space.
