The only people who complain about cliques are the ones who feel left out. What's supposed to happen in a community of over 100,000 people? We're all supposed to get along like brothers and sisters in a Christian day camp?

I don't like to read foot posts but I don't whine about the thousands of people in the foot clique who post about it.

Cliques are what make the world go round. Diversity.

That's why I normally hate forums. In forums of every imaginable genre there is constant whining.

I read the whines and laugh at how stupid they are. I'm laughing now. Damn! Just spilled my granola.

That's why I love everybody.

in life there will always be cliques and always people who get pissed that they arent part of them. That my friends is called Life. In the words of the immortal Keith Richards, 'We cant always get what we want but if we try sometimes, we'll get what we need'
 
Has it not occurred anyone to do another tickle party with people on the forum somewhere else? Take the time you would have spent pissed off at 'The Clique', find like 10 other people nearby, and plan something.

Maybe I'm blind, but I haven't seen any whining. The whining was at its worst when there were like a gazillion NEST threads in the tickling discussion area. Now that NEST threads are in their appropriate spot, the whining has diminished greatly. Instead I see threads that ask what NEST is, which is natural for a newbie to ask, and what people's experiences are like, which is nice to see and read for people who have never attended a gathering but are interested.

Starting up a thread like this to bitch at people who "whine" about cliques and NEST does nothing to stop people's NEGATIVE beliefs about cliques and NEST. You only make it worse. It's attitudes like that that cement those beliefs. It's not that aren't any cliques on TMF or at NEST. It's the attitude of exclusiveness that comes across that pisses people off.

And this coming from a moderator. Aren't you supposed to prevent flame wars? This has the potential of one. :popcorn:


[EDIT: Ok, I see where the complaints are, but still minor compared to years before and this thread still does not help by whining about the whining.]

I have to agree with Nemesis here. I'm happy everyone had a wonderful time, and I haven't personally seen any of the whining... or very very little.

Sure, there has been a lot less bitching this year than in years past... But there's a reason for that. While it was done on a voluntary basis, some of us still resent the necessity of the choice that we had to make. Specifically: "Do we segregate our NEST posts into a small corner of the forum, or do we put up with the veritable cornucopia of butt-hurt that has manifested in past years?"

If you don't like feet, it isn't considered acceptable to wade into foot-related posts and shit all over them.

If you don't like /M, or M/M, or F/F, or any other combination of 'lee and 'ler, it isn't considered acceptable to wade into posts of that nature and shit all over them.

However, when someone has the temerity to post in a "public" area about the good time that they had with some friends from the Forum, it's considered perfectly acceptable (by some members) to load up on Taco Bell and ExLax and wade in a-spraying. I really don't understand why. Is it THAT hard to skip past thread titles that say "NEST?" Does seeing those thread titles cause deep, irreparable wounds to certain peoples' fragile little souls/egos/feelings/whatever? I just don't get it.

A lot of people, reportedly, have done that, thanks to FetLife.

It's a good idea, really. Have your own gathering. Set your own rules. Serve your idea of good cuisine. Rent the venue you think would work well, or, if you're so blessed, do it right out of your own house. Invite your own kind of clientele- for instance, people who aren't narcisistic and insufferably arrogant, or for that matter, creepy social misfits. Whatever. Either way, all of you might have such a good time that you can't help but want to tell the world about it, and kind of go overboard in doing so...

And, voila. You're back to square one, right? 😀

hey Max.. now tha's a mod you don't really see around

the only place I've ever really seen complaining was in the chat room... and well to be honest it really annoyed me... someone was complaining because people were talking about nest (actualy, it wasn't jus one person, or one time but...), and it can be really annoying.. people were having a nice conversation about nest, and they were getting mad bc they didn' wanna hear about it, people can talk about whatever they want in the chat room... no one is going to like every conversation all the time...

but for the most part.. except to tell people it's time to register, i haven't really seen alot of threads about nest this year...

I find it endlessly insulting that people continue to accuse those of us who choose to attend gatherings as being clique-y and exclusive. Either you people don't understand the meaning of the words you use or you haven't read even one of the gathering posts you like to bitch about.

Literally every single person on the entire internet is invited to NEST. I don't really know how much more nonexclusive it could possibly be. If you make the choice to not come because you can't afford it, or your job doesn't allow it, your family, your fears, not a fan of big groups, tickling is private...whatever your reason...that does not mean that you're being excluded. You are excluding yourself.

Furthermore, NEST is not the only gathering. There are several others throughout the year, all different sizes, different locations and with a different feel than the rest. If you can't or don't want to come to NEST, find another gathering. If you can't make any of them, hit up a local munch. They are everywhere, and more are popping up all the time. If you don't have a munch scene in your area, start one.

If none of these options apply to you and you prefer to keep your tickling experience to the TMF, clips4sale and whatever else you do to explore your fetish or interest, then fine. Do what makes you happy, but then let other people do what makes them happy without hurling insults at them because you can't/won't give gatherings a try.

I don't see NEST as a clique, but an ever growing bonding of cyber-friends meeting in real life; thus becoming real friends! Just like any other gathering...
 
I laugh when reading NEST posts from people who attend.

NEST is a sausage fest of 100 men and 25-30 women... some of those women are a whole lot of woman that can skew the numbers in their weight alone.

The males posting their gratitude for cuddles and foot touching makes me wonder how much fun it could be in the orbit of those lovable losers. I'd avoid these guys and play with other girls too if I was a female in attendance. At least the less desirable girls act confident and attempt fun.

Most in attendance are in cliques that stay confined to their rooms and restaurants within a 1 mile radius from their rooms.

Most of the tickling at this gathering is mild, because so many people in attendance are strangers that do the bulk of their socializing online. Socializing online is not the same as socializing in person.

There is not much action being missed out on. Definitely a lot of room for improvement with regards to an actual tickling orgy happening.
