HELP.

Want to attend, not sure of when/where/how/what/who.

Please share tips on how to plan a trip from Milwaukee area to... Boston?

Christ, I WANNA GO.

😀

(Any and all reminiscing about past years is fine. I just want to know how to participate, particularly in an out-of-state event.

Watch the Gatherings section for updates about NEST. It will be scheduled for the spring. I believe the first weekend in May and it's always held in Philadelphia.

As far as travel.... plane, train, bus, car.... your choice. Whatever works for you.

The time of year and place have already been mentioned above, how you get there is your choice. You just book travel like any other trip you'd take to Philly. Anything else has bound to have been covered in the NEST section of the forum here.

As also was mentioned above, start saving now for it, and just watch the forum after the first of next year. As it gets closer, you CAN NOT miss the thread about it once it goes up.

Well you can, NOT, start saving and then use it as an excuse why you couldn't come in the end. :jester: Plane tickets, hotel costs, NEST registration fees, eating for 3-5 days, supplemental fees of taking a trip... it doesn't get any cheaper by waiting whether you are a student, a professional, or unemployed. Start saving.

Listen to this guy, he's a professional😛

Already saving money. I want to be there. As soon as there is a possitive date, I will book my hotel and travel. My suggestion to you is a grayhound or a cheap flight. They have them if you book in advance.

If you're in WI, maybe you can come to Bella's party
in Columbus, OH, the weekend of Nov 13-15. 🙂

This is a good suggestion. I'm sure you can take a greyhound between Milwaukee and Columbus for a reasonable rate and get there in about 7 hours.

As for NEST, you just gotta save. The plane is going to cost you money, and a hotel room is going to cost you money. No way around that, unless they start a NEST scholarship. If you are looking to save on flights, I recommend http://www.bing.com/travel/. You can see how much various flights are and they'll predict whether the price will go up or down. The best way to save on the hotel is to get roommates. If you get to know some people well on here, you can certainly see if they are interested in rooming. Almost everyone does since the weekend can be costly. If not just start a thread after registration is announced that you are looking for roommates. Shouldn't be hard to find one.

But you're gonna have to have some money to go. So start saving. Hope to see you there.

Well, if your not employed I would suggest looking for a part time job to save up for the trip.

And college is not an excuse that you can't save money. Anyone can save, even if it's just ten bucks a week. I worked and went to school for four years and I'll be continuing that for another 3-5 starting next fall.

NEST is in Philadelphia and is usually the first weekend in May.

I won't copy what's already been said. But, I will point out that there are also folks who drive and might be willing to meet/carpool. So, that would save a bit as well. Just be prepared to help with gas costs. As others have suggested, if you start getting to know folks online now, it will be easier to find someone to ride/room with.

Damn...thanks ALOT for this link!
I found flights for 1/5 of the prices I seen so far to Philly from Norway! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

It would be AWESOME to have you there. As would it be great to have anyone new, if you think you can swing it.....starting making plans now. I already have....and yes I know its still 8 1/2 months away. :wavingguy

If you can't afford food (and especially hotel) for several days, and you can't schedule that much time, do what I did this year and just come for part of it. You get the spirit of the event by being there Saturday and much of Sunday and it's a great deal better than not coming at all. You will be soooo glad you did.

Never too early. I have never been and I am nervous as well as excited. I have been saving for three months. A little out of each paycheck.
