This is incorrect. Although Rose McGowan did step down from playing Red Sonja (sad...), Megan Fox was never officially offered the role of Red Sonja. Thank fucking God. If they ruin one more comic movie...

The "Transformers: The Movie" from 1986 is the ONLY Transformers film that I recognize. The Bayformers films I can care less about since it's Transformers in movie title only.

Let's see - they made the original voice actors for Optimus Prime and Megatron RE-AUDITION for their parts, when they're the only men to ever play them! (I don't count any of the cheesy CGI "Transformers" after the original series as anything worth mentioning....)
This famously pissed Peter Cullen and Frank Welker off profoundly, and hurt their feelings greatly, because obviously Michael Bay was probably an ass about the whole process.
(Watch the special features on the Revenge of The Fallen - Michael Bay is an asshole. Megan Fox was a bitch according to most crews who worked with her, but on the flip side, Bay is an asshole.)

Then, Frank Welker DIDN'T get the part for HIS OWN character!

Everyone I knew who saw the first movie said the same thing I felt - I didn't recognize ANY of the Transformers...except Optimus Prime! So the guy who BARELY got the job, I meran, if it hadn't been huge online nerd anger, WOULDN'T have even GOT THE PART FOR HIS OWN CHARACTER, was the ONLY robot anyone recognized! One of the most famous voice actors around.....sad, sad, sad.

For a movie titles "Transformers," the main characters are a bunch of useless humans to either tittilate Bay (obnoxious australian accented comuter hacker who looks like she spends more time on the beach than in front of a computer with that tan (Michael Bay likes his women tan, kind of like I like my women wearing stockings.....but would never demand any woman wear stockings, they just look damn nice! Megan Fox said she was relieved she no longer has to sport a perpetual tan since she left Bay's employment.......) You also had fat black guy comic relief who had zero purpose except to be obnoxious fat black guy comic relief.....

The robots themselves - who, what robots? Iron Hide, loyal friend to Optimus but brash on occasion, now wants to shoot the humans? Jazz with the legendary Scatman Crothers voice and coolness relaced by deep angry black guy's voice? What about like, Chris Rock's voice? Starscream! Starscream, who's now a useless coward, the worst character screw up. He hated Megatron but also was afraid of his wrath. Always wanted to take over, .... now almost non-existent. A few critics were happy he had more to do than in the first one, but they were scraping the barrel trying to find soemthing good to say. The Constructicons, used to be asshole construction workers, now...have ZERO character!

Bay was asked to doTransformers in 3D. 3D is a gimmick, but a few movies it would be worth it. Ironically, Transformers is one of those movies!!
Ahhh, but with real 3D, the edits are slower, because the mind can't handle quick edits in 3D, it causes headaches. Remember on Avatar, scenes played out for a while, edits were replaced by sweeping movements. Bay style is an edit every 10 frames or 1 second.....people would be throwing up in the aisles. He has the ability to decide the visual make of the film, and he declined 3D.

I'm a big Transformer fan, and one of my dreams in life was to see a realistic Transformer on the bigscreen. To see Devestator look like real vehicles, how cool would that be!? And the ultimate - to see Unicron, in all his glory, and actually LOOK like Unicron. There's been zero word on if Unicron will be the big bad guy, even though every talkback and message board I've seen always list him as a fan favorite, even Michael Bay's own message board.

Unicron's screen time will probably be replaced by the two jive talking, gold toothed, Skids and Mudflap icecream trucks again.......

Who cares, all she did was whine in the second movie, and Shia was an ass to her most of the time - "I can't say I love you, you may run away....." Their love story was written by a distracted Attention deficit disordered teenage boy who can't commit.

Another thing, it ain't like she going to hurt for work. I just hope Bay doesnt try the tired trick of keeping the character but changing the actress, if he goes for the total change and goes back to the original series (i.e. Ashley Tisdale or Hilary Duff as Carly, Spike's original girlfriend) then my interest may be back in on a trial basis.

I was a big Transformers fan as a kid, and I had no intrest in this movie period, not the first one, or the 2nd one.

According to IMDb, in addition to appearing in Jonah Hex, Megan is slated to co-star in a movie titled "Passion Play" with Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray in 2010. I just came back from the IMDB and it say nothing on her profile about playing Red Sonya. Passion Play is in Post Production and a film called the Crossing is in Production. There is a film in development called Fathom, but nothing about Red Sonja. I think you are mistaken about Shia vs Megan. I think Shia will grow as an actor over time, and become a bigger star then she is. She will, at best, be a T&A Pam Anderson type... except that Pam Anderson was able to laugh at herself and Megan thinks she is a real actress.

Oh well, maybe Vince McMahon will hire her to be a wrestler, the women's divition doesn't seem to require actual talent these days.

Megan Fox is hardly the main thing wrong with the Transformers movie franchise. Let's be honest here.

The real problem is the Transformers themselves! I've been a HUGE fan of Starscream since 1984, but I can't point him out to you in the two movies. No idea which one he is. Not a single one of them looks (or acts) the way they should. Thank Michael Bay for that.....it was his call.

I agree that there was more then just Megan Fox that was wrong with Transformers. I also was a fan of the Starscream character. The fact is there was more depth in a 25 minuet cartoon ten there was in two 2 hour movies... how is that possible sheesh. Maybe he should have watched a few episodes of the cartoon to get a feel for it... then again he might have writen an script with an actual story to lol.

My point is that this could, and probably will, mark the end of Miss Fox's career in mainstream film. There is always porn, but I wouldn't buy anything with her name on it... even a dirty move.

Rose not playing Red Sonja is no loss. At least Briget Nielson lookes like she could kick sombodies ass. For that part you need a Lucy Lawless type, tall and athletic, but not to muscular. McGowan looks like she would break her hand punching a loaf of bread, she's hot, but she's no bad ass.

Mel Gibson was and is an established, Oscar nominated/winning actor/director with tons of F-you money.

All Meghan Fox has is highly subjective good looks. Her movie resume sucks, but is still slightly better than her actual 'acting'.

I don't think it would take much for Fox to go the route of other pretty young actresses short on talent like Molly Ringwald, Phoebe Cates and/or Bridget Fonda... the way of the Do-Do bird.

You know what pissed me off to no end in the first new movie? The way they treated Prime like he was some kind of weakling, like he needed the army's help to take on Megatron. Optimus Prime isn't the underdog hero archetype. He's the total badass who does the right thing simply because it's the right thing to do and his personal code compels him to do it. He's Lancelot, not Rocky Balboa.

Fox has a pretty face (to some) and while that has worked for hacks such as Kate Hudson, Pamela Anderson and any entertainer named Jessica under the age of 30 (and to a lesser extent Sandra Bullock), I don't think that one trick will work for this particular pony.

Gibson, like him or not, is very talented.
