A good question for discussion.
In my life I have always seen videos as an augmentation to fantasy building for times when I'm without a partner, and feel like getting off. They provide a easy place to draw images of a fantasy partner from, activities to imagine, and by extention, perhaps try when one is next with a live playmate. In short they are a box of toys to play with in ones mind, while enjoying an extra long morning shower.
Tickling Videos to me are much like the average issue of Playboy. After a few years of the magazine, one is hardly surprised when you open the new issue to find a pretty nude woman, and surprise! She has boobs and all the proper equipment! Just like the one from last month, and so on. There are few surprises other then the details. Sometimes ones gets the bounus of famous boobies. Which is nice to answer the question that most guys have at some point. "What would she look like nude?" But beyond this, what do random pictures of nudes offer a long time buyer of the magazine? Little.
The real interest comes from the variety of details. Why get the new Playboy? The novelty of a new nude to see. Why get a new video? The novelty of how a new lee reacts, wiggles, laughs and so on. It's all that is left after the first few dozen one sees. (Digression, its also why I feel FM is so successful even after all the ragging people have heaped on them for years for nonticklish models etc. Every tape offers 8-12 new girls, and in that mix one always finds something novel and amusing) We seek something new for the most part. Novelty is a sexual base component for most.
Occasionly a specific model has a quality that hits us on the nose and gets our full attention, be it how they react, thier personality as a lee, and so on. My list of them goes way back, and every few years I seem to find another:

Devin Demoore
Darling
Addie Juniper
These five are the highlights of the last (gulp) 15+ years. There are others scattered in there also, who I have enjoyed, but not as much as the above.
All five of these women are very different in look and response, but all had a quality, that I, as a Ler, enjoyed seeing. And in each it was enough to make me a 'fan' that led to me getting more of their material then I might otherwise have done with my random sampling. I simply enjoy(ed) seeing them get tickled. (and in Cathryn's case, I ended up hiring her for two customs, and had her tickled exactly as I wanted, and she became and e-mail friend along the way) They all have something special that works for me. What that exactly is, is beyond the scope of the post, but it's in the personality more then anything else.
But back to point.
Getting bored with videos is not uncommon. Once you have a bunch of them you probably have all the fantasy material you need for a good bit, and other then the occasional taste for the new and novel one simply has no need to get more (and preview clips are often MORE then enough to scratch the new and novel itch for me) and one will only buy with some seriousness when you see a promo with a model in it that twigs 'something' in you that makes you think she might join the special list. Or if a celebrity is the lee (Narin or Enny for example, as a long time forum members, they drew big sales for their producers by offering the 'celebrity' quaility to the videos) I'm sure that many readers of this would shell out $'s to see specific forum members they see about, or interact with, topped by a good Ler. Producers know this too, and often make solid offers to such members. Few are interested, so celebrity events are rare. But once more I digress.
More then not, I find that the written fiction which we see here on the forum, or from MTJ is where I spend most of my tickling media consumption time. It's fully realized fiction with erotic aspects. What more could I ask?
Call the drop off in interest in new video purchases "Saturation" It happens after that first need to fill the empty image shelves passes. It's normal.
Most folks will become samplers. trying a clip here and there that catches their attention. Some will buy more regularly, as they have a higher desire for novelty, and like to refresh thier image pool more often. But in general for all, purchases will be lower then the first year of buying they had when they first entered the market.
