So people what was the number one record in your country at the time you were born????

For me it was Sunny Afternoon the artist's name escapes me for the moment, I think it was the Kinks but i'll check and let you know, the date was July 19 1966 in England.

I look forward to hearing from you.

#1 song during my entrance into the world was "Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro. You know...that one that always makes you feel like taking your own life everytime you hear it? What a portent....🙄

When I was born, WE CAN WORK IT OUT, by The Beatles, was still spinnin' big. Oddly, HELP!, again by The Beatles, was spinnin' durin' my conception. Never noticed that 'til red indian asked this. Thanks, red!

Seems there was a this horse....and the poor thing had no name. 😛

Horse with No Name by America...number one for three weeks right around the time I made my entrance onto the scene of life. Now I'll be singing it all day long, thnks. hehehehe

Joby

And PRIME! THanks for the link! 🙂

Number one for the year I was born:
Every Breath You Take by The Police.

Evil Queen: thankyou very much for posting the name of that song, Istanbul (Not Constantinople). I went to bed with the only line of that song that I know bouncing around my brain, and I woke up humming it the next morning. Pest 😛

Awww.....Dave...what a pity.
The song Honey always makes me cry....not because of the singer, whom I like...but because the words and story are so tragic. But to each his own.

As to the number one song when I was born, I didn't look it up nor do I know for sure. I'm not a big fan of 70's music and I don't even want to think about disco...the less said, the better.

It would seem the popular song for my entry to the world was Wedding Bell Blues by the 5th Dimension. I always knew there was something out of this reality about me... 😀

On my birthday, the number one song on the US Charts was "Someday We'll Be Together" by Diana Ross and the Supremes... Hmmm... Considering the circumstances surrounding my birth, how appropriate! Who woulda thought that *Fate* possessed such a gift for foreshadowing! 😉

Hey Kraftie, we must be almost the same age!

The #1 song when I was born was Crimson and Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells. That was a #1 song? It doesn't do it for me. Give me the Beatles or Marvin Gaye instead! 😎

Shhhhh...

Kraftie, you don't have to send me a cheque -- after all, what's so bad about being, er, uh, twenty-seven? Yeah, that's the ticket...
