Like all good *****s for PC games, I bought(two weeks ago) the Elder scrolls game known as OBLIVION.

It's destroying any chance I have for a routine sleeping schedule!

Though, I assume that there aren't many here who play RPG's let alone know what I'm talking about, I have to DEFFINATELY say that if you were to pick up an RPG then this is the one to get.
The only problem is that I'm so damned hooked on it that I have had only a scant amount of sleep as a direct result. I'm walking around like a zombie. Today is the first day that I feel good and that is only because(I severely shudder to say this) I drank two beer and swallowed a capful and a half of nytol just to go to sleep last night.
If I'm not immersing myself in the game at all hours of the night then I'm laying in my bed thinking about it.

Oh dear god, what have I done to deserve such a curse!

Aside from that, I was just wondering if anyone else here has played it?

Y'know, maybe shoot the breeze about how cool it is...Or even discuss where a good common ground could be for our eventual support group.....

What kind of system do you havve Dussicar? I hear Oblivion requires a very good pc. Most important I think you need a great video card. 😀 😀 😛

Oblivion is also for the Xbox 360. Boober and I have it, as do a few of my friends at work. The game is rather addicting though I don't have the time to commit to play it right now. But Boober and my friends can't seem to step away from it....

I must say, very nice graphics and a very good job by the creaters. I love the game despite how little I have gotten to play it.

Think thats addicting? Try the lethal combo of FIFA 2006 (online), God of War and Gran Turismo 4.

as Morrowind has been my favorite game so far, I was really waiting for Oblivion to be finally released. the only thing that had me hesitating so far was that after already owning a playstation and the x-box I would have to buy the x-box 360 as well just for this game. but the more I read about it, the more it seems there is no way ignoring it. damn it! 🙂

That's the huge problem of this game. If there were truth in advertising laws that could be passed, the system requirements menu would read: "The best of every computer component on the market is needed to run this damn game."

I have the appropriate processer and RAM(P4 3.00Gz and 1gb of ram). They recommend that you have a Geforce 6800 or higher(I don't know what the ATI equivallent is). I only have a Geforce 6600GT. Thankfully, my CPU and RAM help to offset this problem and I am able to run it with minimal difficulty. I have to have my graphics settings put to medium but EVEN then the game STILL looks spectacular.
All things considered, there is no lagging with the rare exception of a slight hesitation when switching between the game and my stats menu.

Yeah, that's the problem with all of these next generation games. You either have to shell out 500 bucks for the 360 PLUS the cost of the game or you could spend just as much(if not more) on computer upgrades along with the cost of the game.

Damned if we do. Damned if we don't.

Right, PLUS the cost of the beer and the nytol to put yourself to sleep 😉

Like Pawz said, I love Oblivion. They took almost everything from Morrowind and made it better... 😀

do NOT a true rpg make. For those with older systems, one recommends:

Planescape: Torment - engaging storyline that is NOT effects-dependent.

the older Might and Magic titles

For almost infinite replayability, a little known shareware rpg: Avernum. If you're waiting to be visually impressed, you'll be waiting a long time.

and lastly, the very very old gold-box series, especially the Kyrnn based titles and the azure bonds. real-rules AD&D back when the rules hadn't been...tweaked (read: ruined).

😉

Heh! If you liked PST and the old gold-box games, then you should really pick up Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, and Icewind Dale 1 & 2. If you're not TOTALLY against the new rules system, then you might like Neverwinter Nights, too. (multiplayer NWN is awesome)

Studies have been done that link obsessive, childish video game playing to mass murderers.

It's been said that when one neglects their body's call for sleep and instead plays violent video games, they are more likely to have a stress attack and carry a weapon to work to kill people with.

I think it's a bunch oh bullshit, but I still think y'all need to put the controller down, people. Enough is enough, it'll be there tomorrow.

( :imouttahe goes back to Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes)
